The heating will soon becoming on, it’s getting chillier outside, and some of us are already wondering why our skin suddenly feels dry.

There have been lots of lovely new faces around here recently, so I thought it was probably time I properly introduced myself again… and more importantly, told you a little bit about what I want this place to be. 🤍

The Aesthetics & Skin Co has never been about getting as many people through the door as possible, or working my way through every treatment on a menu.

It’s a private skin and aesthetics clinic built with a lot of heart.

I want you to feel like you can come in, sit down, have a coffee, tell me what’s bothering you and know that I’m actually listening.

I want to get to know you. Your face. Your skin. What makes you feel confident, what doesn’t, what you’re nervous about and what actually matters to you.

Because I genuinely believe the best results come when we build a relationship and look at the bigger picture, rather than treating one thing in isolation and sending you back out of the door.

It’s one of the reasons I offer memberships. It’s why I recommend courses of treatment when I know they’ll give you a better result. And it’s why sometimes I’ll tell you that you don’t need something.

I want you to get the very best from whatever you choose to invest with me, not just financially, but in the way you feel about yourself too.

Nobody comes to me wanting to look like a different person. They want to look in the mirror and think, “There I am.”

I get you. When you’ve spent years being a mum, a partner, the person who remembers what everyone else needs, it’s easy to put yourself so far down the list that you almost forget the sexy girl is still in there. But she is.

We all have parts of our face that change as we age. Sometimes it’s a loss of fullness, sometimes it’s an area that seems to have dropped a little, and sometimes you can’t quite put your finger on it, you just know your reflection doesn’t feel like you anymore. You don’t have to feel silly for saying that to me. I hear it all the time.

My gentle full-face rejuvenation treatments have become some of my most wanted appointments for exactly that reason. Over the last three years, I’ve spent so much time carefully refining how I use filler: where a little support will make a difference, where to leave well alone, and how to get a lift without losing the face that makes you you.

That’s what we’ve done here. A little filler, thoughtfully placed. No skin treatment or skin transformation, just a softer, gently lifted look.

I’m not judging anyone for having a budget. I’m judging the way facial injections are being sold like a Sunday flash sale.

You’re choosing someone to inject your face. You should feel comfortable asking about their training, their approach, what’s actually right for you and what happens if something goes wrong. You should also feel completely fine saying, “Actually, I’ll think about it.”

If the offer only works when you book right now and bring a friend, I’d be asking a few more questions before getting on that treatment bed.

I spent far too long tonight trying to write a proper educational post about skin barriers. I’ve got approximately nine slides of it, and I can’t be arsed to look at another one. 😂

A little reintroduction from us 🤍

There have been lots of new faces and followers here recently, so I thought it was time to properly introduce the two of us. I’m Anna, and this is my beautiful daughter, Ruby. We now come as a pair in our new Ilkeston clinic, and I still can’t quite believe I get to say that.

At 18, Ruby is just starting her journey in the industry. She’s qualified in Japanese head spa, laser hair removal, tattoo removal and IPL treatments, and I’m currently training her in facials too. All aesthetic treatments will continue to be carried out by me.

And yes, she knows exactly how high my standards are. She’s had the full military-style training from her mum 😂 I’m so proud of the care she puts into what she does, and I’d love for you to come and support her as she finds her feet in the clinic.

I know many of you are waiting for the Japanese head spa. We’ve had a few hiccups getting everything ready, but we’re nearly there and nearly ready to take bookings. Thank you for being so patient with us.

This really does feel like a new era for the clinic. We’ve put so much time and love into planning a space where you can feel comfortable, properly looked after and enjoy a little time for yourself. To have created something like this here in Ilkeston, and now to share it with Ruby, means more to me than I can say.

The response over our first week has been overwhelming in the loveliest way. If I’ve been a little slow replying, I’m sorry. I’m catching up, and I’m so grateful for every message, visit and kind word.

We can’t wait to welcome you in and look after you together.
