Introducing the Solemn Nights Atelier 🎨
Starting this September weekly on Wednesdays 5.00pm-8.00pm I’m opening the doors to a new chapter at Solemn Nights Tattoo & Fine Art.
The Solemn Nights Atelier is a weekly three hour studio session inspired by the traditional European ateliers. A place where artists gather to study from observation, refine their craft and become part of a growing creative community.
Whether you’re a complete beginner with a curiosity for drawing and oil painting or an experienced artist looking for a dedicated place to practise, you’ll find a welcoming and focused atelier environment.
Each week our study centres around carefully arranged classical still life with an expanding collection of traditional plaster casts. As the atelier develops, sessions will also include drawing and painting from a live model, following a classical approach to representational art.
These sessions are designed for untutored independent practice with some guidance, discussion and constructive critique available throughout the evening whenever you need it.
Every session includes:
• Three hours of uninterrupted studio practice
• Professional easels, drawing boards and studio lighting
• Carefully composed still life arrangements
• Classical plaster casts for observational study
• Tea, coffee, snacks and a welcoming creative atmosphere
• Access to a growing community of artists
Materials:
Artists are encouraged to bring their own drawing and painting materials so they can develop a consistent working practice with the tools they enjoy using.
If you’re attending for the first time or would simply like to experience the atelier before investing in materials, a selection of drawing equipment will be provided for your first session.
Afterwards, I’ll be happy to recommend and supply a carefully selected range of professional materials used within the Solemn Nights Atelier, helping you build a simple, high quality toolkit without the confusion of choosing from hundreds of products.

Single Session – £25
Perfect if you’d like to experience the atelier before committing or simply attend whenever it suits you.
Monthly Solemn Nights Atelier Membership – £80 per month
Designed for artists who want to develop a consistent studio practice and become part of the growing Solemn Nights Atelier community.
Membership includes weekly Solemn Nights Atelier sessions, priority access to future workshops, courses and exhibitions. Members’ critique evenings as the atelier continues to grow. An invite to a private WhatsApp group for continued support and advice and to be part of the Solemn Nights community. Opportunities to have your work featured across our website and social media. The opportunity to grow alongside a community of artists committed to traditional observational drawing and painting. Eligibility to exhibit in future Solemn Nights Atelier exhibitions!
