Follicular Edema aka swollen follicles 😍

If your skin looks like this after your laser treatment don’t panic - it’s a good thing and settles down within a few hours.

During treatment the light produced by the laser finds the hair and heats it up. This heat is transferred down to the follicle and destroys it.

The hair on our body - like the hair on our head, goes through a constant growth cycle. It actively grows, detaches, then sheds. Only follicles that have an actively growing hair can be damaged.

There is usually 10-20% of hair actively growing at any one time, this is why you will need multiple sessions of laser hair removal. Once the follicle has been destroyed it can no longer grow a hair 🙌🏼
