Laughing Geese

Laughing Geese Dynamic and fun resources for professional staff and managers, unpaid carers and creatives You know that health and social care staff do amazing work.

To recognise and strengthen best practice through creative, solution-focused, human-shaped learning programmes, with coaching for effective care of self and others. Maybe you also know that the UK government estimates care staff sickness absence is costing more than 10 billion £ a year. Maybe you know that the King's Fund (research organisation) showed that a quarter of health and social care staf

f and a third of managers are experiencing anxiety, stress and depression. Well, - we work with staff and managers to find better-feeling approaches and staff support systems. We also work with people who face similar challenges but who don't have the support of an organisation. We know that people who connect with a sense of love, hope and empowerment are more motivated to self-care. They are also more able to practice wellness-focused approaches that make a positive difference to themselves and others. This reduces stress, increases ideas for fresh approaches and inspires all involved. Feedback from Karrie's workshops and programmes around the UK:
'Uplifting and practical. Packed with ideas. Feel more confident about what I can do.'
'One of the best courses I've been on. Fun, informative and totally inspiring!'
'Goes wider and deeper than other courses'
'Out of all the courses I've done, this one opened something up for me. I have a real sense of excitement for the first time in years!'
'As a manager I found your approach refreshing and compassionate. It's helped us communicate more effectively.'

Arts in Health includes a wide range of creative practices — from music, dance, and visual arts to writing, storytelling, performance, and design.
There is growing evidence showing the positive impact of creativity for wellbeing.
Individuals can be supported to express their ideas or experiences through the arts – beyond words. Creative environments are uplifting for individuals, families and staff.
And yet, working creatively in care settings can feel unexpectedly complex.
This simple guide offers a grounded approach, using The Four Five Formula, designed to support sustainable practice in pressured environments.

Creative practice support pack for artists working in care settings. Simple tools to build confidence, stay grounded, and work safely in complex environments.

3. Use brain-friendly micro-resets that build calm, clarity and confidence to be yourself - and to go for what matters to you.

Don't worry if you miss the first session. The group session will be available online with other resources (for members only). Looking forward to it all... https://www.karriemarshall.com/joinus

Heres a model of the brain in a safe state… the prefrontal cortex is functioning, thinking, well… planning, organising, problem solving, decision making … and all is connected directly or indirectly to the rest of the brain… the amygdala and hippocampus are calm ☺️ In this state the brain can explore, make new neural connections, try new things, store new knowledge, enjoy the process.
In a fear state (stress state) it cannot imagine or think beyond what it already knows how to do… it’s n a protection state. Understanding how to create safe spaces really matters for staff and learners.
