“Is any man afraid of change? Why, what can take place without change?”

— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

We talk about change as though it is something that interrupts life..... As though everything would be easier if things could just stay as they are 🗿

But change isn't an interruption to life. It is life ✨️

The seasons change. Our bodies change. Our relationships change. Our circumstances change. Our hopes change. Even the person we are changes, often so gradually that we don't notice until one day we realise that something which once felt right no longer does.

And perhaps that is something significant to consider 🦋

Ask not simply, “What am I leaving?” But, “Who am I becoming?” 🧚‍♀️

Because sometimes the things we are being called towards only become visible when we accept that we cannot remain exactly who we were. Change doesn't always mean something is wrong. Sometimes it simply means that life is moving 💃

Our task isn't to hold everything still 🗿
It's to learn how to move with it 🌄💃🧚‍♀️🦋✨️🌻🦢😌☀️🙏🎉🌳🏕⛰️🌼🔮💖🔥🦄🧘‍♀️🌈🌿🏔🥹💕

The Eight of Cups - our card of the week - reminds us that some endings arrive quietly. They don’t always come through conflict or heartbreak; sometimes they arrive as a whisper that says, you’ve grown beyond this place 🧘‍♀️

A relationship can be loving, a job can be secure, and a home can be comfortable, yet something within us still longs for a deeper sense of meaning. That longing isn’t ingratitude—it’s honesty. We can appreciate what has held us, while also recognising that it may not be where our next chapter belongs 🌄

This card invites us to listen to the gentle voice we so often silence: the one that asks us to choose authenticity over familiarity. Walking away isn’t always about leaving something behind; sometimes it’s about walking towards the person we’re becoming 🧚‍♀️

What is your inner voice quietly asking you to acknowledge today? 🌿🌄🌈🧘‍♀️🪅🦄🔥💖🔮🌼⛰️🪷🦋💃🏕🌳🎉🙏✨️☀️🧚‍♀️😌🦢🌻

Sometimes the hardest thing to walk away from is something that isn’t actually wrong 🌄

There’s a story about a traveller who arrives in a beautiful village. The people are kind, the work is meaningful, the food is good, and there is a comfortable bed waiting for him each night. By every outward measure, he has found exactly what he was looking for ✨️

So he stays, and for a while he is genuinely happy ☀️

But as the seasons pass, a quiet tug begins to grow inside him. Nothing has gone wrong. There’s no argument, no betrayal, no dramatic ending—only the gentle realisation that his journey is asking him to keep moving 🧚‍♀️

When he finally leaves, the villagers can’t understand. “Why would you go? You have everything you need here.” 🌻

We don’t always leave because something—or someone—isn’t enough. Sometimes we leave because our soul is calling us in a different direction, and honouring that call is an act of love 😌

What if the question isn’t, “What’s wrong with this?” but “Is this still where I’m meant to grow?” 🌙🌻🦢😌🧚‍♀️☀️✨️🌄🙏🎉🌳🏕🥹🧘‍♀️💃🦋🪷🌈🏔⛰️🌼🔮💖🌿🔥🦄🪅

📖 So, what do we do with regret? ⏳️

In my earlier post, I explored regret and the painful effect it can have on our lives. Because I think there's a danger in trying to rush past these feelings — in telling ourselves that we should simply be grateful for the lesson and move on 🏞

But the lesson isn't something we need to force ourselves to find. It emerges naturally when we're ready to look at what we've lived through with a little more compassion 💕

Our regrets, our painful experiences, our difficult choices and the things we wish we could change can all shape us. Not because suffering is somehow good for us, but because of what we can learn when we move through it 🌈

The difficult experiences of our lives can teach us what matters. They can show us what we need, what we value, what we won't accept again — and, perhaps most importantly, what we actually do want 🦋

That's where I think something beautiful can happen. Not because the pain was necessary. Not because everything happened for a reason. But because we can take what we've learned and allow it to inform the life we create from here ✨️

Moving forward doesn't require us to pretend that we wouldn't change the past if we could. We can wish we'd chosen differently and still choose differently now 🌕

We can grieve the life we lost and still create a life we love. We can acknowledge the darkness without allowing it to determine where we go next 🌙

Maybe there's a real gift hidden within the question:

"What have I learned?"

🌙✨️🌕🦋🌈💕🏞⏳️📖🌻🙏🌷🎉🐦🌹🌏🏡🌾🪻🪅🦄🔥🌿💖🌳🔮🌼⛰️☀️😌♥️🦢🧚‍♀️🏔

📖 Moving forward doesn't mean you don't wish you could change the past 🌙

I've been feeling quite introspective lately. I'm consciously creating a new life for myself — one that feels more mindful, more intentional and more aligned with who I am and what I actually want. And yet, sometimes when we're looking forward, we can't help but look back ⏳️

There are choices I've made that I deeply regret. There are things I wish had happened differently, and there are chapters of my life that I miss with an ache that still catches me by surprise 📖🥺

I think we're often given the message that we should find a positive meaning in everything. Everything happens for a reason. It was all part of the journey. You wouldn't be who you are without it. Maybe there is some truth in that, but I don't think healing means convincing ourselves that the painful things were secretly good for us 🦢

Sometimes things happen that are just incredibly painful. Sometimes we make choices we desperately wish we hadn't made. Sometimes we lose things we would give almost anything to have back 🌙

We're always going to have choices we deeply regret. We're always going to have experiences that hurt us more than we ever imagined they could. And we're always going to have moments when we wish we'd taken a different path 🏞

We are allowed to regret them. We are allowed to grieve them. We are allowed to wish things had gone differently 🧚‍♀️

But we can still choose what we do with those experiences now 🦋🧚‍♀️🏞🌙🦢📖♥️⏳️😌🤓☀️⛰️🌈🌼🔮🌳💖🌿🔥🦄🪅🪻🌾🏡🌏🌹🐦🎉🌷🙏🌻💕🌕

🌙 Eight of Cups — Card of the Week 🌕

I came across a story recently about Clive, who spent more than 20 years working in hospitality — running pubs, restaurants and hotels — before deciding it was time to take a completely different path 🏞

As his career progressed, he became increasingly aware of how much poor mental health was affecting the people around him. Eventually, he reached a point where he couldn't ignore the feeling that he wanted his work to contribute to something different. So he left hospitality and began a new career in social care, taking with him many of the skills he'd developed along the way 🧚‍♀️

His story really resonated with me because I spent many years working in hospitality too. It's an industry I have a lot of affection for, but I also know how demanding it can be. The long hours, the pressure, the late nights and the drinking culture can take a real toll, and I've seen people struggle with their mental health — including myself 🧘‍♀️

That's one of the things I love about the Eight of Cups. It doesn't necessarily represent walking away because everything was terrible. Sometimes we've simply reached the point where we know we've learned what we needed to learn, and there's something else calling us forward ✨️

Leaving doesn't erase the years we've spent somewhere. Those experiences become part of us. We take the skills, the friendships, the lessons and even the difficult bits with us — and they can become the foundation for whatever comes next 🏔

Maybe the question isn't “Was all that time wasted?”
Maybe it's “What did that chapter teach me, and where do I want to take it now?” 🌙🏔✨️🧘‍♀️🧚‍♀️🏞🌕💕🌻🙏🦢🌷🎉🐦🌹💗🌏⏳️🏡🌾🪻🪅🦄🔥🌿♥️💖🥰🌳😌🦋⛰️🔮🌼☀️🌈📖

The people who make you feel shiny again ✨

I think, as humans, we’re all a little prone to forgetting that we belong. Loneliness creeps in. We can feel like we’re on the outside looking in. Life can get a little too loud, and we lose sight of ourselves for a while 🧚‍♀️

And then there are the friends who somehow make everything feel a little lighter.... The ones you can laugh with until your stomach hurts...... The ones who listen without needing to fix anything..... The ones who know the messy bits and love you anyway..... The ones who remind you who you are when you’ve temporarily forgotten 🥺

The people who make you feel shiny again ✨

Tonight, I’m feeling particularly grateful for those friendships in my own life..... The people who have walked beside me through different chapters, celebrated my quirks, held me through the difficult bits, and somehow always managed to bring a little more light into the room ✨️🌕☀️🌻

Friendship is such a beautiful kind of belonging 🌈

So tonight, I’d love to turn the gratitude outward…

Who makes you feel shiny again? 💛

Tag them. Tell them. Send them this post 📖

And if you’re lucky enough to have those people in your life, let them know, because sometimes, the people who mean the most to us don’t realise just how much light they bring ✨📖🌈🌻☀️🌕🧚‍♀️🌼🔮⛰️🏞🦋😌🌳🙏🥰💖♥️🌿🔥🦄🪅🪻🌾🏡⏳️🌏💗🌹🌙🏔🐦🧘‍♀️🎉🌷🦢

The healing power of the human voice 🎶✨

Long before we had microphones, speakers or playlists, we had the human voice 🧘‍♀️

Across cultures and throughout history, people have sung, chanted, hummed, called, drummed and used their voices in ceremony, celebration, mourning, prayer and connection. We've always intuitively known something that modern science is only beginning to understand....

Using the voice can be profoundly regulating. Singing and chanting invite us to breathe differently, create vibration through the body, focus our attention and, when we do it together, synchronise with the people around us 🧚‍♀️

There's some fascinating research to support this. Studies have found that group singing can increase positive mood and feelings of social connection, while reducing anxiety. One recent study looking specifically at chanting found that just 12 minutes of group chanting was associated with reduced cortisol and anxiety — with vocal chanting producing a greater reduction in anxiety than silent repetition 🎉🌷

Maybe the next time you feel tense, flat or overwhelmed, you don't need to find the perfect words. You could simply hum. Sing. Sigh. Chant. Make a sound. Let your voice move through you 🦢

Your voice isn't only a way of communicating with the world. Sometimes, it's a way of coming home to yourself 💛🦢🌷🎉🧚‍♀️🧘‍♀️🐦🏔🌙🌈🌹💗🌏⏳️🏡🌾🪻🪅🦄🔥🌿🌕♥️💖🥰🌻🙏🌳📖😌✨️🦋🏞⛰️🔮🌼

🌙 A little story for the Eight of Cups…

In 1997, Julia Butterfly Hill climbed into a thousand-year-old redwood tree in California. She thought she'd stay for a couple of weeks. She stayed for 738 days. She named the tree Luna, and from her tiny platform high above the forest floor, she fought to protect it from being cut down, and eventually, she succeeded 🌳✨️🎉

But something else happened during those two years. Julia discovered a different way of living. She had survived a devastating accident shortly before her journey into the redwoods, and the experience had already begun making her question what she wanted her life to be about. Climbing into Luna wasn't simply about walking away. It was about walking towards something 📖

Towards purpose 🧘‍♀️
Towards connection 😌
Towards a life that felt more meaningful ✨️

And when she eventually climbed back down, she didn't return to the person she'd been before. She carried what she'd discovered with her 🦋

✨ Sometimes the Eight of Cups asks us to leave something behind. Not because it was necessarily bad. Not because we have all the answers. But because, somewhere deep inside, we know that we cannot keep standing still just because the path we're on is familiar 🏞

Sometimes we have to turn our backs on the cups we've already filled…

…and walk towards the mountains ⛰️

We don't always know what we'll find there 🔮

But maybe that's the point 🌙

What might you be ready to walk towards? 🔮⛰️🏞🦋✨️😌🧘‍♀️📖🎉🌳🙏🌻🥰💖♥️🌕🌿🔥🐦🦢🦄🪅🪻🌾🏡⏳️🌏🌷💗🌹🧚‍♀️🌈🌙🏔

🌙 A gentle evening thought from our new card of the week - the Eight of Cups…

“Stop shrinking yourself to fit the places you’ve outgrown.”

I don’t know who first said those words, but tonight they feel like they belong here.

The Eight of Cups reminds us that sometimes leaving isn’t an act of rejection. It’s an act of recognition. You can be grateful for what a place, a relationship, a role or a chapter gave you — and still know that you have become someone who needs something different 🌈

You don’t have to wait for everything to fall apart before you’re allowed to move on 🏞

Sometimes the quietest knowing is enough:
This was right for me once ✨️
It simply isn’t where I belong anymore ✨️

So tonight, perhaps we can celebrate the courage to stop making ourselves smaller for somewhere we’ve already outgrown. And trust that the path ahead doesn’t need to be completely visible 🌙

We only need enough moonlight for the next step 🌙

Eight of Cups — walking gently toward what fits 🏔️✨🌙🌈🏞🧚‍♀️🎉🌹💗🌷♥️🔮🌏⏳️📖🏡🏡🌾🪻🪅🌼🦄🦋🦢🌻🐦🔥🌿🙏🧘‍♀️🌕
