Thank you NHS Highland Out of Hours Team and 111 💙

Family's experience: "When my mum became unwell with a severe Urinary Tract Infection over the weekend, I called NHS 24 on 111 at 7pm for advice.

We spoke to a call handler within 20 minutes, received a GP call back within the hour, and by 9pm I had collected antibiotics from Raigmore Hospital.

It was a busy Saturday evening, but the whole process was straightforward and meant my elderly mum could stay at home and start treatment quickly without having to attend A&E.

A big thank you to the NHS 24 on 111 and Out of Hours teams for their help.

✅ Call handler within 20 minutes
✅ GP call back within the hour
✅ Prescription collected the same evening

The worst part? Having to put my bra back on to go and collect the prescription!" 😄

Not sure where to turn?
Call NHS 24 on 111. Available 24/7, they can help you find the right care for your needs.

Talking About Pain Matters

Pain is common – talking about it isn’t. Let’s change that.

Pain is personal, but it doesn't have to be a silent struggle.

Healthcare professionals understand that chronic pain is complex. Today's evidence shows that the best support often combines physical, psychological and lifestyle approaches to help people improve their quality of life and daily function.

Pain medicines can sometimes help, but they are often only one part of the picture. Learning skills to live well with pain and understanding what influences pain can make a real difference.
