After a lovely summer with my family, I’m back to work on Wednesday this week and can’t wait to make music with you all .
I’m excited about what’s ahead for Harmony Music Therapy Scotland.

New projects. New ideas. And a few things I’m not quite ready to share yet… 👀

May we proudly introduce Sophie’s Story’s newest venture:

Sophie’s Super-suits 💫💛

ADAPTED BODYSUITS 🫶
Sophie’s Super-suits are adapted to accommodate low-profile gastrostomy/jejunostomy/gastro-jejunostomy buttons and/or percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tubes.

If you have a child who has a feeding device fitted, and who wears bodysuits, you will understand how frustrating it can be to source affordable, adaptive clothing that accommodates the device.

We found the cost of adaptive clothing (bodysuits) was quite frankly ridiculous (in our opinion). There was also very limited choice in terms of patterns and colours. At times we physically cut holes in Sophie’s vests (see picture) to allow us to access her button – that was, until my Mum stepped in and offered to adapt some of her vests for us.

We will source bodysuits from reputable high street clothing stores, adapt the suit to suit the needs of a feeding device and then sell the suit at an affordable cost. All profits made will go to Sophie’s Story and/or be used to source more materials.

Initially, we will be looking to stock vests from 9 months to 4 years old. Our understanding is that feeding devices are not generally fitted until a child is over 12 months old, and bodysuits for children over 4 years old are not as easy to source. That said, if you have a request for a specific size or item, then we would love to hear from you.

SEWING TEAM /VOLUNTEERS🪡🧵
Would you like to be part of our sewing team?

We are looking for talented individuals who would be happy to give up some of their time to support a good cause.

Materials will be provided, but sewing experience is essential, as the adaptation needs to be finished to a high standard. So, if you know your way around a sewing machine and feel like you could help, then please get in touch on the above email address.

UPDATE: Name suggestions closed, Monday 10 August

Thank you for all the wonderful name suggestions for our new neonatal mascot! 💜

We've loved reading your creative ideas, and it's been especially heartwarming to hear the stories behind some of them and the difference the unit has made to families.

We're now sharing all the suggestions with the team, who have the difficult task of choosing the name that best suits our mascot.

Thank you for being part of this. We'll share the chosen name on our page once the team has had a chance to decide.

Help Us Name Our New Neonatal Unit Mascot! 🐮💜

We're excited to introduce the new mascot for the Highland Neonatal Unit at Raigmore Hospital... our very own Highland coo!

Our friendly wee coo has recently become the symbol of the unit and will feature on our cot cards, signage and other materials in the future. There's just one problem... they don't have a name yet!

We're inviting families who have spent time on the neonatal unit, along with our wider community, to help us find the perfect name.

✨ What would you call our Highland cow?
Share your suggestions in the comments below by Monday 10 August. The neonatal unit team will review all the ideas and vote for their favourite.

Before anyone says Cow McCow Face... yes, we've already thought of that one! 😄 See if you can do better and surprise us with something unique. 🐮

📣Appealing to our fabulous followers, friends and family📣

Hi all, Stuart & family here!
Does anyone have an old phone lurking in the junk drawer?

Drummond School Parent Council are in need of old mobile phones. These are to be used solely for photographing pupils to track their progress and show to their parents. New laws prevent personal devices from being used for this so 20 phones are needed as soon as possible.

The phone doesn’t need to be a recent model, just a working camera and, of course, needs to be factory reset.

IF YOU THINK YOU CAN HELP I’M MORE THAN HAPPY TO COLLECT AND DROP OF AS MANY DEVICES AS POSSIBLE TO DRUMMOND SCHOOL.
