Does your shadow do this?
You tell yourself you don’t need anyone, yet feel disappointed when nobody checks in.
You say you hate drama, yet somehow keep finding yourself surrounded by it.
You insist other people’s opinions don’t matter, then replay one comment in your head for days.
You tell yourself you’re fine, while your body quietly keeps the score.
The shadow isn’t always dark, angry or destructive.
Sometimes it’s the part of you that learned to survive.
The people pleaser.
The rescuer.
The perfectionist.
The one who never asks for help.
The one who learned that being needed felt safer than having needs.
Shadow work isn’t about becoming a better person.
It’s about becoming an honest one.
Because the behaviours frustrating you today may have once protected you brilliantly.
The question isn’t:
“What’s wrong with me?”
The question is:
“When did I learn this was necessary?”
Awareness isn’t judgement.
It’s the beginning of choice.
