We all come across people we don’t get on with, it’s just part of life. Sometimes it’s a personality clash, and other times it’s the way someone behaves or sees the world that makes us feel uncomfortable.

But just because someone is different from us doesn’t automatically make them a “bad” person. You don’t have to agree with or like everything about them, and it’s okay to take a step back if that’s what feels right.

That said, there may be times when you still need to be around someone you dislike, at work, in your community, or even within family. When that happens, it can help to show kindness and take a moment to reflect on what exactly is bothering you. You might not change how you feel, but you’ll handle it with more calm and compassion and that’s a win for your own peace of mind.
