Yoga creates space for that quiet shift. The kind you feel in your body, your mind and your energy long after class has ended.

For a long time, I thought being strong meant keeping going.

Giving more.
Doing more.
Holding everything together.

Motherhood, career, family life, the endless to-do list… I kept showing up for everyone else while slowly disconnecting from myself.

Then I came across a term that resonated deeply with my experience: Rushing Woman’s Syndrome. This is actually from Dr. Libby’s () amazing book.

Suddenly, I could see myself in it.

The constant doing.
The pressure to keep going.
The feeling that there was always something else that needed my attention.

The book suggested restorative yoga which I honestly didn’t think it was for me. At the time I wasn’t into yoga, let alone restorative yoga 😅. Slowing down felt uncomfortable. Unfamiliar.

What I didn’t realise was how much I needed that space.

Somewhere along the way, I had forgotten how to simply be, without constantly doing.

Restorative yoga helped me reconnect with that.

Space to breathe.
Space to listen.
Space to notice what I actually needed.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do isn’t to push harder.

It’s to pause.

If you’re going through a difficult season, please know: you are seen 🤍

This Mental Health Awareness Week, the theme is Action, but action doesn’t always have to be big or visible.

Sometimes it’s resting without guilt.
Speaking honestly.
Letting yourself pause.
Accepting support.
Taking one small step instead of none at all.

Gentle actions can make a huge difference.

The years ahead will ask different things from our bodies.
More strength. More balance. More care. More patience.

A regular yoga practice can support mobility, posture, strength, balance and overall wellbeing — helping us keep moving and feeling better for longer.

Imagine stepping away from the noise for a day…

Moving your body, eating lovely food, soaking in the hot tubs, walking barefoot in nature, and finishing with deep rest and sound bath.

That’s exactly what we’ve created for this summer day retreat at PAUS, Cambridge Saturday 20th June.

A full day to reset and come back feeling like yourself again.
