When the working week is over, our brilliant Payroll & Training Coordinator, Rachael, unwinds by spending quality time with family and loved ones, and if she has some time to herself, a glass of wine is a lovely treat too.

What do you like to do to unwind from a busy week? 💭

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Will Hawling, one of our excellent case managers.

Will is an extremely experienced physiotherapist who works alongside orthopaedic consultants to advise clients on treatment options. Will is well-versed in the intricacies of the health care system, and this knowledge has proved invaluable in his case management practice, as he helps clients navigate the best pathway within the NHS, alongside private provision, which has been of great benefit to those with acute and sub-acute needs.

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the APIL Brain & Spinal Injury Conference 2026, where we connected with solicitors, rehabilitation providers and specialists from across the UK.

The whole conference was excellent, but one standout moment for us was seeing StanleySmith Director, Heidi, taking part in a mock cross-examination of care experts, offering valuable insights into how detailed and accurate reporting can significantly impact client outcomes.

Our Business Support Manager, Rebecca, has written an article about our time at the conference, available on our website via the link below.

Thank you to APIL for putting on another standout event - it was great to meet so many people who share a mutual passion 😊

There are moments in our work where we can pause and see the difference we have made.

One of our associate case managers, Megan Burton, who is also a qualified Occupational Therapist, recently supported a client in finding her dream home. She has now received the keys, and we are so pleased for her. By drawing on clinical expertise throughout the property search, a suitable home was found. Here is what Megan had to say:

“It’s been amazing to help a client find a home that fits her needs now and for the future. Yet it’s not just me - it’s a whole team approach. At StanleySmith and beyond, our combined efforts made this possible. It’s so rewarding to see what can be achieved together and how it changes lives.”

This is a wonderful example of how thoughtful, person-centred case management can lead to life-changing outcomes for clients, and we’re so pleased to wish our lovely client a lovely future in her new home 💐🩵

Mental Health Awareness Week is here.

This year’s theme, “Take Action,” speaks directly to what we stand for at StaneySmith. For our clients, taking action means ensuring their voices shape their care, with mental wellbeing prioritised at every step. For our team, it means creating a workplace where support is accessible and conversations are open.

Action doesn’t have to be big to matter. It can be as simple as checking in, setting boundaries, or reaching out for support.

How will you take action this week to support your own mental health, or someone else’s?
