What would you think if you saw your child like this for the first time?

You've been told they won't make the night, their only hope, urgent heart transplant which may not arrive. To try to get them there they need surgery to attach a Berlin Heart.

But you don't know what that is. The medics explain but in your traumatised state, you don't really hear.

All you hear it is their only chance, you sign the paper work and they are rushed to theatre.

And then, hours later, this is what you see.....

What would you think?

And a year later to the date I posted this, we got the call. That call brought a overwhelming amohnt of grief, I will carry the family's grief for ever.

But for the very first time. I had a spark of hope, hope that she would be one of the lucky ones who would get the come home.

Today a family will grieve the loss of their little one.

Today a little girl, 5 years old now, will head off to school, a life of wonder and adventure ahead of her. Her mum will give her a kiss and wave her off, her dad will be keen to finish work and get back to pick her up and play.

He will give her a big hug and swing her up on his shoulders as the walk from the school.

Today a family will grieve the loss of their little one.

Today a little girl will live an ordinary, extraordinary life.

Today a family will wonder about their little one, what would their life have been like, what would they have been like? What dreams would they have had?

And they will miss their little one with an ache and hurt that can't be fixed.

Today, many countries away, a little girl lives because of them. The love of two sets of parents, strangers, joined as one.

I hope we are looking after your little one well.

I hope we are giving them the love and life you would have dreamt of 💗

I hope you see Bea and take comfort, her sass, her smile, her love.....because of you 💗

I hope, one day, to be able to look you in the eyes, no words needed, to be able to truly say thank you 💗

Not sure if shared this footage of Bea previously.....it's from the morning of her transplant surgery.

She'd had lots of trips to theatre for ventricle changes or 'new pipes' and she was adamant that's what she was going for 💗
