One of the biggest myths about meditation is that you must completely empty your mind. The truth? Meditation isn’t about stopping your thoughts. It’s about noticing them, then gently bringing your attention back to the present moment.
🌿 A Simple Beginner’s Meditation 🌿
1️⃣ Find somewhere comfortable to sit.
2️⃣ Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
3️⃣ Take a slow breath in through your nose.
4️⃣ Breathe out gently.
5️⃣ Focus on your breathing.
6️⃣ When your mind wanders (and it will), simply notice it and return your attention to your breath.
That’s it.
No special skills. No chanting on a mountaintop. No need to become a Zen master overnight.
Even just 5 minutes a day can help calm a busy mind and create a little more space in your day.
✨ How Meditation Works Alongside Reiki
Meditation and Reiki make a wonderful team.
Meditation helps quiet the mental chatter, allowing you to become more aware of your thoughts, feelings and body.
Reiki works by encouraging deep relaxation and supporting your body’s natural healing processes.
When combined, meditation can help you become more receptive to Reiki energy, while Reiki can make it easier to reach a peaceful, meditative state.
Think of meditation as gently opening the door and Reiki as the warm, calming breeze that flows through it. 🌿✨
And remember, if your meditation session mostly consists of wondering whether you’ve left the washing in the machine, that’s okay too. Every time you bring your attention back to your breath, you’re practising.
💚 Be kind to yourself. Meditation is called a practice for a reason.
