πβ¨ The people who share the light still experience the darkness. β¨π
I think this image carries such an important message.
Sometimes we look at people who speak about healing, positivity, self-love, spirituality or personal growth and assume they must have it all figured out.
But we donβt.
Weβre human too. π€
I can talk about having a positive mindset and still have days when my thoughts overwhelm me.
I can encourage others to heal while still discovering parts of myself that need healing.
I can speak about letting go while occasionally finding myself looking backwards.
I can believe deeply in kindness and empathy while acknowledging there have been times when Iβve got things wrong and unintentionally hurt others.
And I can share words that somebody else needs to hear while quietly realising that perhaps I needed to hear them too.
Thereβs no hypocrisy in that.
Thereβs humanity. πΏ
Healing doesnβt mean reaching some magical point where nothing ever triggers you again. Growth doesnβt mean never repeating an old pattern. Sharing light doesnβt mean you never find yourself sitting in the dark.
Sometimes the people who remind others to keep going are reminding themselves at the same time. π
For me, the beautiful part of this journey isn't becoming perfect.
Itβs becoming aware.
Itβs recognising our patterns a little sooner. Apologising when we get things wrong. Giving ourselves compassion when we stumble. Learning from the parts of ourselves we once tried to hide.
And then choosing to keep growing. π±
We are allowed to be both.
Light and shadow.
Healed and still healing.
Strong and sometimes struggling.
Wise and still learning.
A guide for others and a work in progress ourselves.
One does not cancel out the other.
Perhaps our light doesn't come from never experiencing darkness at all.
Perhaps it comes from knowing the darkness exists and continuing to reach towards the light anyway. πβ¨
So never feel like you have to have everything figured out before you can encourage somebody else.
Weβre all walking our own paths, learning our own lessons and becoming a little more ourselves along the way.
And what a beautiful, messy, imperfect journey that is. π
Much love, louise.
