Memory Wheelchairs A helping hand when you need it most. A little more about us…
We started this service about 4 years ago when very sadly we lost a special friend.

We purchased a wheelchair and called it Helen’s Chair. Since then, each wheelchair is named in memory of a passed loved one or someone special, each person continuing to give a helping hand to someone in need. We offer to “loan out” our lightweight, easy foldable wheelchairs, including paediatric wheelchairs, on a short-term basis, free of charge, to anyone for any need… recovery from injury or surgery, end of life care or just support to enable mobility and access to daily living with dignity. We now have 19 wheelchairs, and we desperately need to buy wheelchair bags, coseytoes covers, waterproof covers and maintain the wheelchairs we have to enable our users to use our Memory Wheelchairs. Sadly, anything that supports disability is expensive, so we need all your support to raise the funds to help us continue to help others. We work closely with Morecambe Bay Hospital, hospital outreach services such as Physio Support, End of Life Care Team, Community Nurses, local GP Practices, our Local Age Concern and Citizens Advice. ♿️ TWO ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIRS AVAILABLE TO PASS ON ♿️

Memory Wheelchairs is pleased to have received two electric wheelchairs, both of which are fully working and in excellent condition, ready to be passed on to people who need them.

🦽 Q300 Mini Electric Wheelchair
🦽 Karma Electric Wheelchair

Both wheelchairs are available free of charge to anyone who genuinely needs one.

A donation to Memory Wheelchairs is always gratefully received and helps us continue providing our free service and supporting people in our local community. However, a donation is not required to receive a wheelchair.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who donates equipment to Memory Wheelchairs. Your generosity allows us to give useful mobility equipment a new lease of life and, most importantly, help someone who needs it.

At Memory Wheelchairs, we are incredibly lucky to have so many wonderful people who support us, get involved with our service, help us along the way, and celebrate the little wins with us. ❤️

So, each month, we’re going to shine a spotlight on someone special and name them our Star of the Month.

🌟 Our very first Star of the Month is Roy Watt! 🌟

Roy took on an incredible challenge in memory of his beloved wife, who sadly passed away. Memory Wheelchairs was able to help in a very small way when she needed us, and it means so much to us that Roy chose to give back by raising awareness and funds for our charity.

Roy joined the Loughrigg Charity Climb, completing an amazing challenge to raise funds and awareness for Memory Wheelchairs and Cancer Research UK.

We are incredibly proud to recognise Roy as our very first Star of the Month. ⭐

Roy, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your incredible support, your determination, and for helping us continue our work.

You truly are a star! 🌟❤️
