But seen as I've been a widow for 19 months now, I guess I'm going to have to suck it up.

Still not happy that I can't share everything with you.

Still trying to accept the unacceptable, even after all this time.

I knew what I needed to do to look after myself. I just couldn't seem to do it.

After my husband Chris died, there came a point when I genuinely wanted to start looking after myself again.

The slightly ridiculous thing was, I'm a health coach. I knew about nutrition, movement, sleep and stress. I didn't need somebody to give me another list of things I should be doing.

But knowing what to do and actually doing it when you're exhausted, overwhelmed and trying to rebuild your life are two very different things.

Journaling became one of the things that helped me make sense of everything going on in my head. It helped me work out what mattered, where I could actually start and what was realistic for the life I had now.

And that's really where Write Your Way to Wellness came from.

It's a six-week live online course combining health coaching and journaling for women who've been through a life-changing experience and are ready to start prioritising themselves and their health again.

We won't be chasing the perfect diet, exercise routine or morning routine. And you don't need to be someone who already journals.

We'll use different journaling approaches alongside practical health coaching to explore things like nutrition, stress, movement, time, sleep and what looking after yourself can actually look like in your life.

The first group starts Thursday 17 September at 7.30pm.

It's a small founding group of no more than 6 women, and the founding price is £95 for the full six weeks.

Write Your Way to Wellness will run again, but it won't run again at this price. £95 is the special founding-course price for this first group.

So if you've been thinking “I know I need to start looking after myself again, but I don't know where to start”, I made this with you in mind.

August was Grief Awareness Month. Sunday was Grief Awareness Day. I was going to write a post about it, but then I read:

“People that are grieving don't need reminding of their grief.”

And if you've lost someone close, you're probably nodding along as you read that. I did.

There are so many oddities that are just part of your life now. Like the widow friends that you're eternally grateful for, but you know that deep down all of you wish you weren't really friends. Because the one thing that brought you together is the one thing you wish hadn't happened.

The thing that surprised me the most about grief was (is?) the sheer exhaustion.

I'm pretty sure part of it comes from your body trying to carry on as normal while processing the most complex and difficult emotions it's ever experienced.

But because we don't talk about grief enough, when you're going through it, you can find yourself questioning yourself and asking, “What's wrong with me?”

I definitely did.

And when you start rebuilding and focusing on your health again, you may find that what worked for you before just doesn't work now.

Your capacity may be lower. If you're like me, your brain is foggy. Everything feels a little more challenging than it did before.

And that's why I created Write Your Way To Wellness.

This isn't grief support. And it's not for you if you're in the most intense stages of grief. (You probably need more than I can offer right now ❤️)

But if you feel like you're ready to start taking care of yourself again, it might be for you.

Write Your Way To Wellness is designed to give you six weeks of support, reflection and practical guidance to help you:

• Feel more like yourself again, making space for you, your health and the things that matter to you.

• Know where to focus your energy, understanding what will make the biggest difference to your health and wellbeing.

• Trust yourself and the choices you make, with more confidence and less pressure to get everything right.

• Make changes you can actually stick to, creating a way of looking after yourself that works for you and your life.

We start on 17th September. Link to find out more in my stories.
