There’s nothing quite like a good afternoon tea! 🍰

Our tenants from our two Morpeth properties came together to put on an amazing afternoon tea, complete with plenty of delicious treats, sandwiches, cakes and, of course, tea! 🫖

It’s always lovely to see everyone enjoying an afternoon together, sharing food, conversation and smiles. 💚

A special thank you to The Oaklea Trust for continued support at Morpeth. 🫂

You’ve loved seeing tenant Miguel’s wonderful felt work so far, so we thought it was time to share some of his newest creations! 🧶✨

From colourful characters to intricate little details, Miguel puts so much time, creativity and care into each piece, and we love seeing where his imagination takes him.

At Fairoak, we’re proud to provide our tenants with a safe, supportive space where they can spend time doing the things they love, explore their interests and express themselves creatively. 💚

Whether it’s crafting, creating, volunteering, learning something new or simply enjoying a favourite hobby, we believe there’s something really special about having the time, space and encouragement to pursue what brings you joy. 🏡

Well done, Miguel. We can’t wait to see more creations! 👏

☀️ Fairoak BBQ 2026! 🍔

What a brilliant day bringing our Fairoak community together for our annual BBQ!

Tenants from Kendal, Barrow, Hexham, Barnard Castle and Cockermouth, alongside the whole Fairoak staff team, came together for an afternoon of good food, great company and plenty of fun.

This year, we headed to The TCR Hub in Barnard Castle, who were fantastic hosts. From burgers and sausages to spending time together and enjoying the sunshine, it was a huge success!

A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a memorable day. 💚

For many autistic people, visiting the GP can be far more challenging than many of us realise.

Recently, some of our tenants have been working with local GP surgeries to share their experiences and discuss the barriers they face when accessing healthcare. This powerful video explores many of those same challenges, from overwhelming sensory environments to communication difficulties and feeling misunderstood. 💚

Although it’s a longer watch, it’s well worth taking the time to better understand the hidden barriers autistic people can experience and the simple changes that can help make healthcare more accessible for everyone.

🏡 This week, Ali worked alongside a tenant to create a personalised jobs list to help make everyday household tasks feel more manageable.

By breaking things down into simple, achievable steps, keeping on top of household tasks can feel less overwhelming, helping to keep their home clean and tidy, build confidence in day-to-day responsibilities, and create a space they can feel proud of.

It’s often the small, practical steps that make the biggest difference. 💚

A huge well done to our Housing Support Officer James, who has successfully completed his Level 1 Makaton Workshop alongside a fantastic group of learners.

Makaton uses signs, symbols and speech to support communication, helping people to express themselves and understand others with greater confidence. It’s an invaluable skill that can make everyday conversations more accessible and inclusive. 💬

At Fairoak, we’re committed to continually developing our team’s knowledge and skills to provide the very best support for the people we work alongside. 🏡

Well done to everyone who completed the course! 👏
