I hear so often that meditation feels uncomfortable …. Here are some possible reasons why that might be and ideas of how you could overcome them 🙏🏻

I think that yoga, meditation recordings, quiet walks in nature and meditation groups are incredible if you’re struggling.

One of the reasons we have group sessions and 1:1 sessions is because it can be difficult, and having the guidance and support of a teacher can be really helpful. I love to hear people say that they have struggled before but the session has really helped them because for me that’s what it’s all about!

Try not to give up if you’ve struggled - there could be solutions to your difficulties and I’d be more than happy to talk through it all with you 🩷

Mindfulness is more than meditation is it presence 🙏🏻

I love this practice - properly listening to music.

Music is so beautiful and each track we listen to probably has so many layers, instruments and meanings!

Stopping what we are doing and giving the music your full attention can easily be part of your routine!

You could even notice how the song makes you feel, memories it brings up or even how the body feels when you listen to it!

You can even experiment with different genres, songs you’ve never heard before, classical pieces the possibilities are endless!

Also a great practice for kids!

Not to start beef but …

I’m not sure there are or should be “quick fixes”. We are human and not problems to be fixed!

Life is full of ups and downs - always has been and always will be and there will always be parts of ourselves we may want to work on or “heal”. There is no end “goal” in life where we are “fixed” and I think if we can let go of that expectation we may find so much more contentment in the present!

Do things because they feel right for you and because they are part of a process not a “quick fix”- release some expectations and just take a moment to really care for and validate yourself in this moment 🩷

One of the reasons I love mindfulness (and yoga) is that it’s not a fixing - it’s a being. I’m accepted in mindfulness just as I am and that is just beautiful 🩷🙏🏻
