Anger Management Therapy Kenilworth Warwickshire

Anger Management Therapy Kenilworth Warwickshire Integrated therapy for effective control and recovery from anger management, anger issues intimacy, Anger is a valid, healthy emotion. Imploders usually explode!

However, many of us learned from a very young age, that anger can be dangerous and destructive.
“Anger equals pain”. As children, it is vital that our angry feelings are accepted by our caretakers. If these feelings are not heard and respected, we carry our resentments into adulthood and project them onto others, especially loved ones, work colleagues and those in authority. As grown ups, most of

us fall into two distinct categories of behaviour, affecting both our mental and physical states. This in turn can lead to depression, anxiety, stress, ill health, relationship break-down and loss of job etc. There are usually two ways that most of us deal with our anger, either to implode or explode. Exploders move from anger into rage quickly. These are adult temper tantrums. Exploders are irrational in their regressed state and cause harm to themselves and to those around them. Their anger is the rage of the moment. Exploders are unable to look at the big picture and are swamped by the reptilian and mammalian part of the brain. Rage is anger out of control.Imploders stuff their anger. They “bottle” it for long periods of time because of fear, insecurity and low self-esteem. Initially, it appears to cause little harm to them. Imploders however cannot hold the anger in forever, they must let it out. They are walking time bombs, just waiting to explode. The longer it is held in the more damage it does to the person retaining it. It takes its toll physically! An imploder will eventually become an exploder. It is only a matter of time. As irrational as the exploder may seem, the imploder appears more so. Imploders stack dominoes called emotion and pain. When dominoes are knocked over, they fall on the next in line and cause a chain reaction. All it takes to knock over the first domino is an insignificant event at the wrong time. These are important treatment areas:
• Anger Management
• Defense Mechanisms
• What anger isn’t
• Attitudes
• Behaviours
• Feelings
• Causes
• Road Rage
• The Wheel of Emotions
• Temper Control
• Anger Scale (degrees of anger)
• Do’s and Don’ts
• Giving and Receiving Feedback
• Understanding Anger
• Recognition and Expression
Every time you feel angry with another person, you can either express your feelings, which triggers a reaction in the other person, or not express your anger, which will then build up inside you until eventually you explode. You are in conflict with that person (holding onto grudges) and will remain so until you can resolve matters with them. If this is not done (i.e. resolution is not reached) it is likely that you will remain resentful or hostile towards them. This serves no-one and only keeps your anger alive. Often when it comes to expressing our anger to others, there is fear about how to express it in such a way that it is clean, healing and empowering for both ourselves and others. If you feel you have consistent anger issues , please call Stuart 07825 599340 for a free confidential, no obligation discussion regarding your issue. Insomnia and Sleep Issues
Lying awake at night, staring at the ceiling, feeling wired but exhausted?
If that sounds familiar , there’s a good chance your cortisol levels are out of control.
And here’s the deal: high cortisol is more than just a bad night’s sleep—it’s a serious roadblock to your health, energy, and your ability to hit the flow state.
Cortisol is your body’s built-in alarm system.
It’s meant to help you handle stress, but when it sticks around too long—especially at night—it can wreak havoc on your sleep.
Studies show that elevated evening cortisol is one of the biggest culprits behind tossing and turning, disrupted sleep cycles, and that feeling of being “tired but wired”.
When your cortisol levels are too high in the evening, your body stays in a state of alertness, making it nearly impossible to relax and fall asleep.
And poor sleep doesn’t just affect your mood—it drags down your entire health, energy, and performance.
The Cost of High Cortisol:
1. Disrupted Sleep
High cortisol messes with your body’s natural circadian rhythm, making it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep. You wake up feeling drained, no matter how long you’ve been in bed.
2. Increased Stress and Anxiety
Cortisol is linked to heightened stress responses. If your cortisol stays high, your body is constantly in “fight-or-flight” mode, which leads to more stress, anxiety, and mental fog during the day.
3. Blocked Flow State
Cortisol doesn’t just affect your sleep—it blocks your ability to enter the flow state. The flow state is where you’re fully focused and performing at your best, but high cortisol keeps your brain stuck in overdrive, making it impossible to focus deeply or think creatively.
Now, imagine what happens when you cut evening cortisol by 25%.
You’re not just lowering your stress—you’re giving your body the green light to relax, sleep deeply, and wake up energized.
Lowering cortisol improves your sleep quality, reduces anxiety, and opens the door for you to finally access the flow state.
When cortisol comes down:
1. Deep, Restorative Sleep
Lower cortisol allows your body to enter its natural rest-and-recover mode, improving sleep quality and helping you wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day.
2. Reduced Anxiety, More Clarity
When your cortisol levels are balanced, you’ll notice less anxiety, better mental clarity, and an increased sense of calm. This sets you up for a more productive, focused day.
3. More Consistent Flow State
With cortisol in check, your mind and body can work together, making it easier to slip into the flow state—where creativity, focus, and high performance come effortlessly.
You don’t have to spend another night staring at the ceiling, trapped in a cycle of poor sleep and high stress.
Lowering your evening cortisol naturally is possible, and it’s the key to better sleep, more energy, and consistent access to the flow state.

Anger is something we do not manage as well as we need to. Often it controls us, and we use it to control others. Anger may cause you to react inappropriately towards loved ones, friends, or those you work with and instead of stopping to look at what’s triggered you in the first place, we tend to displace our uncomfortable feelings. Not knowing how to manage or recognise anger causes it to grow and intensify, affecting anyone that gets in the way.

Anger Management Therapy -Kenilworth, Warwickshire
The problem is more rampant than we all imagine – an alarming number of men and women find it extremely hard to deal with their anger and end up blowing situations out of proportions. Many of them do not know when to give up the fight and almost none can take a joke on themselves. Anger is cited in ancient texts as one of the biggest enemies of a human being's body and soul – it can have grievous consequences for the way the body functions too, increasing stress, the blood pressure, and causing other forms of damage too. It impairs judgement, can make a person violent and could even cause the person to lose out on his/her relationships, which are the most valued part of a human being's existence. There are many who keep away from or maintain distance from loved ones, only for the fear of hurting them in anger. In a situation like this, it is best to learn to control one's anger or, at least, learn to channelise it in better ways – in ways that are constructive rather than destructive and harmful to the individual. There are several benefits of learning to give one's anger a better route than by breaking the vase (literally). Here are some ways in which anger control can prove to be advantageous for us.
Advantages Of Anger Management
Here are some ways in which controlling anger can be advantageous:
Judgement
We all know that anger makes us incapable of being able to take stock of the situation well, impairing our better judgement, and making us prone to making mistakes in sound reasoning. Exercises in anger management are often aimed at channelising the anger better so that you do not lose control when you lose temper. This would in turn, help you analyse situations better and make you capable of taking stock of situations.
Better Communication
Anger is often caused by misunderstandings, which are, in turn, caused by faulty communication between the two parties involved. A lot of anger and the stress that it causes can be avoided by opening up communication lines and making oneself available to dialogue. Controlling and channelizing one's anger in a constructive and non stressful way will not only open up lines of communication further but will also turn you into someone who is approachable and easy to talk to.
Empathy
Training in anger management is extremely beneficial for developing empathy for the other party, which helps one party understand the other better, which would decrease chances of further conflicts and disputes. Many a times, anger builds up because the party involved refuses to see the situation from the other person's point of view. When you begin to develop empathy for the other person and try to see life from their perspective, there will be no room for conflict at all.
Fewer Disputes
Disputes are conflicts that go out of control and conflicts are differences of opinion, which are expressed rather aggressively. It is important for us to see where it begins and be able to nip a possible dispute in the bud. This can only be done when one is able to treat differences in opinion as just opinions rather than personal attacks on someone's belief. Being able to control anger will definitely help avoid silly disputes.
Closer And More Healthy Relationships
Many people who have serious anger related issues, stay away from their loved ones when they realise that they are hurting people with their anger. Since the people we love are closest to us, they are often the first victims when we lose control. Controlling anger and channelling anger better will make the person concerned more capable of leading a life that is relatively free of ugly scenes or outbursts of anger.

Life Crisis Coach
As humans, we often go through hard times in our lives, the current situation around Covid has challenged us all . We struggle with our relationships, with work, battle substance misuse, overcoming losses, and a thousand other things that can turn our lives upside down. When we are struggling with one area of our life it can impact all the areas. Everything in our life is connected.
Life Crisis coaching will help you get back on track with your life. To help you overcome the obstacles you are facing by arming you with the knowledge and skills to rebuild and heal. We all come across life’s challenges and often we are left without the ability to know where we need to go next. You can feel frustrated, hopeless, and trapped. If your usual skills are not working, and things are not getting better a life crisis coach can help.
Crisis coaching will help you create a path to move forward. I will help you build strategies to help you overcome the difficulties you are facing and provide you with the tools and skills to get back on the path of success and health.
Difference Between Crisis Coaching and Therapy
There is a lot of overlap between a life crisis coach and therapists but there also some key differences. Therapists are like mental health surgeons they run the ER and can complete emergency complex surgeries. Coaches have first aid kits and can provide rehabilitation exercises. Life coaching can aid in helping with more minor injuries or ones that are not completely debilitating or life-threatening. Individuals that are still able to move through life despite their injuries are perfect for coaching. Sometimes coaches and therapists can work in tandem providing you with comprehensive health and well-being plan.
Therapists often provide more long-term care that focuses on diagnoses or past trauma. Often therapy is focused on the past and uses analysis and introspective techniques to work through painful experiences. They work with the clients on problematic beliefs, behaviours, relationships and sometimes physical responses to help them create a more stable and happier future.
Life crisis coaches come and walk beside their clients, they provide them with information, brainstorm and examine potential decisions and directions. They provide their clients with the tools and space to clarify goals and identify obstacles to create an action plan to achieve their desired results. Coaching focuses on the present and works to create a better future for their clients. They are action-based and help their clients to take control of their lives and steer their ship towards their goals.
Life Crisis Coaches do not diagnose the clients they work with while a therapist determines the pathologies so they can be clinically treated. Therapists will help to examine the past to explain the present while life coaches identify the problems areas so clients can work to modify them. A therapist focuses on “why” certain behaviours occur while a coach works on “how” they can move towards certain goals. Both coaches and therapists can be key to your health and well-being.
The biggest life crisis
What is considered a life crisis? Many different forms, events and experiences can result in a life crisis. Each person is also different in how an event can impact them which can determine if it is a crisis or not. We may experience a bunch of smaller ones that pile up resulting in overwhelm and an inability to cope or we may have a big life crisis that has the same effect. We are all influenced differently, and we need people to help us get through them.
There are several areas of our life that a crisis can occur, in our relationships with friends, family and our partner, business, and mental and physical health. Together, we will break these different life crises’ down and move you forward and through the other side

Hypnotherapy -can help you break those bad habits
There are certain habits that can have a dramatic impact on a person’s life. Modern day living creates temptations that are open to becoming uncontrollable habits and spiralling out of cognitive control.
Alcohol, sugar, ni****ne, recreational drugs-are all things that create a reward sensation by activating the neural pathways associated with pleasure and reward in the brain. They release chemicals and hormones to make us feel really good when we’ve just eaten that chocolate cake or experienced that high (most of us know that feeling).
Habits are not just related to reward. We can also form habits known as Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours, like hair pulling (trichotillomania), skin picking (dermatillomania), nail biting (onychophagia) and thumb sucking. Originally the behaviour may have been created to break the path of anxiety, but now serve as nothing other than an embarrassing reminder of the ongoing habit, increasing anxiety and destroying self-confidence.
Habits are created through repeated patterns of behaviour and formed in a very primitive part of the mind; the Hippocampus. This is an internal library which stores all our past primitive experiences and patterns of (sometimes inappropriate) behaviour. The hippocampus is designed to create a template to link experiences to memories.
Imagine a child touching the oven door and burning themselves? The template links that memory and reminds the child not to touch that oven, it will be hot and burn you. Perfect, that’s exactly what we want the hippocampus to do, to throw a warning to our mind and dodge the danger.
However, imagine now a long day at work. You come home exhausted and tired and all you want to do is just kick your shoes off and drop on the sofa. However, you notice in the fridge the leftover wine from the weekend, and you know there’s just enough for one glass. You pour yourself a drink before kicking off your shoes and flopping on the sofa. You have just created a template in your mind, so that now every time you feel stressed your mind thinks “a glass of wine will help.”
This behaviour is repeated and repeated and all of sudden you find yourself having a glass or two every night regardless of how you feel. You have created a habit, a behaviour pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary.
The habit manifests, you may put on weight or find your sleep affected, impacting on your home or work life, increasing anxiety and stress.
That’s where hypnotherapy can help you.
Hypnotherapy can help you replace the old, unwanted behaviour with a new, positive response that still meets the original need, creating the reward naturally in the mind without the need for other stimulants.
In a deeply relaxed hypnotic state, the subconscious mind (where the habit is stored), becomes accessible and more receptive to change.
Hypnotherapy will regain control of your focus, so you can tolerate thoughts and urges more readily and consistently.
The psychotherapy used in each session will create and rehearse a new, personalised response that is incompatible with the habit or behaviour and identify trigger situations and people, and rehearse using your new response in these situations. And of course, hypnotherapy will increase your calmness, confidence and relaxation, reducing the need for the habit or behaviour.
Call Stuart -07825 599340 if you would like to discuss changing your bad habit with hypnotherapy .

Sleep Issues and Covid
Acute insomnia is a sudden onset of insomnia symptoms, usually in response to a disruptive, stressful life event. Short-term insomnia happens throughout our individual lives. A job loss, a relationship strain, an illness in the family—something unexpected happens and suddenly you can’t sleep. There’s scientific evidence that large-scale events—things like earthquakes and wildfires–create spikes in acute, or short-term, insomnia in affected populations. For the first time in our lifetimes, the large-scale covid crisis has increased sleep and insomnia issues to everyone around the world.
A number of studies found high rates of insomnia in response to the early days and weeks of the pandemic, including a large-scale study in China, which found that at least 20% of participants met clinical criteria for insomnia. When scientists compared pandemic insomnia rates to pre-pandemic rates, they found the prevalence of clinical insomnia had increased by 37%.
Under any circumstances, acute insomnia often evolves into chronic insomnia. Acute insomnia typically resolves over a period of days or weeks. Chronic insomnia lasts for three months or more, with insomnia symptoms appearing several nights a week, week after week. Estimates suggest that roughly 50% of people with insomnia experience symptoms for a year or more.
Chronic insomnia raises risks for long-term health and functioning, including heart disease and metabolic disorders like diabetes, as well as depression and cognitive decline.
If your sleep is disrupted, if you’re routinely having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, if you’re waking early and feeling unrefreshed by your sleep, you’re experiencing the symptoms of chronic insomnia.
Acknowledging your sleep issues is the first critical step to improving your long-term health. There are a number of ways insomnia can negatively impact your health, but the one thing is how important quality sleep is—especially during this pandemic.
People who get 6 hours of sleep or less each night are 4.2 times more likely to catch a cold than those who get 7 hours or more. In other words: Not sleeping isn’t doing your immune system any favours

Sleep issues and insomnia.
The National Sleep Foundation explains that insomnia can be a response to a medical condition or a result of mental illnesses such as depression or anxiety. Poor sleep hygiene, chronic pain, certain medications, lifestyle habits, and allergies can also contribute. Often insomnia and sleep disruptions may start as a result of a few bad nights sleep and create the "fear of the fear" of not sleeping, which then becomes an associative pattern .
Recent research shows that both acute and chronic insomnia respond positively to hypnotherapy. In one study, hypnotherapy was considered more effective than other techniques in helping participants fall asleep. The benefits of hypnotherapy include identifying destructive thought patterns, finding the reason for one’s insomnia, and a deeper, more restorative night sleep.
Hypnotherapy for sleep can allow you to break free from sleep disturbance / medications and there ongoing side effects and return to natural, revitalising sleep patterns .
