De repente, estoy bien con no ser incluida, invitada o tomada en cuenta.

Es extraño, porque antes me importaba demasiado. Me preguntaba si había hecho algo mal cada vez que me dejaban fuera o simplemente se olvidaban de mí.

Pero ahora lo acepto.

No todo el mundo va a elegirte, y no todo el mundo va a recordarte, y está bien.

La verdad es que, donde realmente perteneces, nunca tendrás que pedir un lugar en la mesa.

For years, I thought my exhaustion was "just getting older."

Maybe it was menopause.
Maybe it was my thyroid.
Maybe it was stress.

The truth turned out to be more complicated.

Recent blood tests showed my ferritin had fallen to just 7 ng/mL.

For context, many women in midlife feel and function best with ferritin levels around 50 ng/mL or higher. Mine was 7.

Looking back, it's no wonder I was struggling with fatigue, brain fog, poor concentration, low resilience, and that feeling of trying to move through life with an empty tank.

As someone who spent 24 years in the pharmaceutical industry and now works in holistic health, I've learned that wellbeing isn't about choosing between science and soul.

It's about listening.

Meanwhile, ordinary women — mothers, exhausted women, women carrying the emotional weight of life — are left feeling like sacred connection is financially out of reach.

But cacao is not luxury.

Cacao is remembrance.
Cacao is pause.
Cacao is prayer.
Cacao is the moment a woman finally sits down and listens to herself again.

That’s why I wrote Mamá Cacao.

So women could create ceremony at home.
Without pressure.
Without performance.
Without needing permission.

A candle.
A cup.
A breath.
A quiet moment before bed.
That is ceremony too.
