🐴💜 Well… nobody said horses were a sensible financial decision! 😂

They eat our money, wear our money, stand on our money and occasionally roll in something that definitely cost us money… 💸🐴

But somehow, they give us something worth far more in return. ❤️

They make us laugh, teach us patience, give us purpose, build confidence and provide those quiet moments of connection when the rest of the world feels a little too busy.

At TEAL, we see every day just how much horses can give us — often without asking for anything more than our time, kindness and a few treats in return. 🥕😉

So yes…

💸 Bank account: considerably lighter.
💜 Heart: completely full.

Would we change it? Not for the world! 🐴💜

🇬🇧🐴 TEAL MEETS THUNDER BAY THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION, CANADA! 🇨🇦🐴

It was absolutely lovely to welcome Lindsey from Thunder Bay Therapeutic Riding Association in Canada to TEAL today! 💜

We had such an interesting time hearing about the fantastic work they are doing with young people in Canada, sharing experiences and chatting about the many ways horses can support learning, development and wellbeing.

Lindsey certainly won’t be going home empty-handed! ✈️📚🇨🇦

She is taking back two of our TEAL Equine-Assisted Learning Activities Guide books, packed full of practical groundwork session ideas, with learning and developmental outcomes identified for each activity.

We really hope they provide lots of inspiration for future sessions and, most importantly, help support some of the young people Lindsey and her team are working with. 🐴💜

It’s quite special to think that activities developed and used here at TEAL CIC in Surrey will now be making their way across the Atlantic to Canada! 🌎

Thank you, Lindsey, for taking the time to come and visit us. It was wonderful to meet you, hear about your work and share ideas.

💜🐴 WE’RE BACK! A BRAND-NEW ACADEMIC YEAR BEGINS… 🐴💜

After a busy summer behind the scenes, we’re so excited to be getting ready to welcome everyone back to TEAL on Monday 7th September! 🎉

A new academic year means new goals, new challenges, new achievements and plenty more opportunities to Learn, Enjoy & Achieve. 🌟

We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces returning, welcoming some new young people into the TEAL family, getting stuck back into our accredited courses and, of course, spending lots of time with the horses and animals. 🐴🐶📚

For some, this year will be about building confidence and friendships. For others, gaining qualifications, developing independence, learning new skills or working towards their next steps into further education, volunteering or employment.

Whatever each young person’s journey looks like, we’ll be right there alongside them — celebrating every bit of progress along the way. 💜

The horses are ready…
The classroom is ready…
The TEAL team is ready…

🐮💜 A few more faces from the Edenbridge & Oxted Show! 💜🐮

It wasn’t all about the horses for us! 😂 We loved having a wander around the livestock areas and meeting some of the absolutely gorgeous cattle on show.

From the huge, impressive bulls to the beautifully marked cattle, it was lovely to see so many different breeds up close — all looking incredibly comfortable and rather content tucked up in their straw beds. 🐄🌾

Agricultural shows are such a brilliant opportunity to learn more about different animals, breeds, farming and the work that goes into preparing and caring for livestock.

Safe to say, we may have spent a little longer in the cattle tents than planned! 😂💜

Our little 2½-year-old nephew has already been put to work, helping us muck out the horses’ barn — broom in hand and taking his job very seriously! 😂

And, of course, Ripple is supervising proceedings… although we’re not entirely convinced lying in the bedding with his tennis ball counts as helping! 🐶🎾🤣

There’s so much learning that happens through simply getting involved — caring for animals, helping with little jobs, building confidence and learning that everyone can play a part. 💜

We think we may have found ourselves TEAL’s youngest yard assistant! 🥰🐴

💜 What a Bank Holiday Weekend! 🐴✨

After a fantastic weekend at the Edenbridge & Oxted Show, we’ve come away feeling incredibly positive about the conversations we’ve had and the people we’ve met.

One of the best parts of events like this is simply getting the chance to talk. 💬

We met so many new faces who stopped to find out more about TEAL CIC, our alternative provision, accredited education and the different pathways we can offer young people.

We also had some lovely visits from people who had specifically planned to come and find us at the show — whether they’re interested in accessing TEAL, finding future provision for a young person, or looking at professional training through TEAL TEACH™. 🐴📚

And there were plenty of conversations with people thinking about the future too — professionals interested in training with us, delivering accredited equine education and potentially becoming part of the growing TEAL TEACH network.

Sometimes you don’t realise quite how far your work is reaching until someone walks onto your stand and says, “I’ve been following what you do…” 💜

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped, chatted, asked questions, shared their stories and took information away with them.

And coming away with Second Prize for our trade stand was a pretty special bonus too! 🏆🥈

What a wonderful way to finish the summer and head towards a brand-new academic year.

🐴🎪 WHEN TEAL MET THE BRAVO SHOW! 🎪🐴

We couldn’t resist sharing these brilliant photos from the Edenbridge & Oxted Show! 💜

Our neighbours at The Bravo Show certainly knew how to get our attention when their very talented miniature horses came over to say hello to the TEAL stand! 😂🐴

It was fantastic watching them demonstrate some of their tricks right outside our stand — and, as you can imagine, anything involving horses is always going to stop the TEAL team in their tracks!

What we particularly loved was seeing the communication, partnership and training between the horses and their handlers. Teaching any horse a behaviour takes time, consistency, trust and an understanding of how that individual horse learns — something that links beautifully with so much of what we teach through our Positive Equine Relationships, Behaviour & Training course. 🧠🐴

Events like this aren’t just about promoting what we do. They’re about meeting people, sharing ideas, making connections and celebrating everything that’s wonderful about the equine world.

A huge thank you to the Bravo Show team and their fabulous little equine stars for popping over and giving us our very own ringside performance! ⭐️
