💙 Today our team were proud to be providing first aid cover at a fantastic community event in Hanwood Park.

Representing our team today were our responders Stacey, Craig E and Sam joined by Craig D and Mark from the charity team. It was also a special day for us as we continued showcasing our new Community Training Vehicle, helping us engage with even more people across our communities.

One of the highlights of the day was teaching CPR to lots of children, giving them the confidence and skills to help save a life in an emergency. Seeing so many young people eager to learn was truly inspiring!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Keli’s successful completion of her Level 3 Community First Responder training!

Achieving Level 3 status is a fantastic accomplishment and reflects Keli’s dedication, commitment and hard work in supporting our community.

As a Level 3 responder, Keli can now attend incidents involving children, carry and administer additional medications to support certain emergency situations, assess and safely use our raised lifting chair to help patients who have fallen and are clinically appropriate to be assisted back to a seated position.

Importantly, Keli has received specialist training to assess each situation and determine whether it is safe and appropriate to use this equipment, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care.

Thank you, Keli, for the countless hours you have invested in your training and for everything you do for the community. We are delighted to see you continue to develop your skills and make an even greater difference to those who need us.

💙Well done, Keli, a fantastic achievement! 💙

⁉️Did you know it’s ‘National Corn on the Cob day’⁉️

Just like a corn on the cob is made up of lots of individual kernels, our responder team is made up of incredible volunteers, each bringing their own skills, experience and compassion to our “responder cob!”

One kernel on its own might not seem much, but together we create something special and that’s exactly what our team does every single day. Whether responding to emergencies, teaching our community, mentoring new members, or simply being there when someone needs reassurance, every person plays an important part.

So here’s a big thank you to all our “kernels” who help make our responder family so strong. 🌽

“Happy Corn on the Cob Day” from all of us and remember, teamwork is what makes the cob complete!

Last night, our Wednesday team was out in the community, ready to respond whenever needed.

A huge thank you to Stacey (Weldon), Keli (Brigstock) and Rosie (Corby) who signed on and gave up their evening to support the ‘North Northants community’. Their dedication, commitment and willingness to be there when someone needs help most makes a real difference.

We are incredibly proud of all our ‘Community First Responders’ who volunteer their time to help keep our communities safe. 💙❤️🤍

🤍Meet Tina!

💙Hi, I’m Tina!

❤️I love working as a responder because I know that the support and reassurance I provide can make a real difference when someone is facing an emergency. Helping people during difficult moments is incredibly rewarding, and knowing I can be there when they need assistance most is what I enjoy most about the role.

💙Meet one of trustees, Mark !

❤️My names Mark I have been with the scheme now for nearly 5 years. I joined as an active responder but for the past few months I have joined the charity side of the scheme as a trustee and also the safeguarding officer. I feel I have the knowledge to pass onto newly qualified responders and am at the end of the phone if they need a talk or need advice. I am still glad I can play my part in this amazing scheme and enjoy volunteering my spare time. 🤍

💙Richard has been a committed Community First Responder serving North Northants for many years. Passionate about helping others, he enjoys teaching Basic Life Support (BLS) within the local community alongside his fellow responders.

❤️Over the past 10 years, Richard has seen the responder group grow significantly and has welcomed many dedicated and talented volunteers to the team. One aspect of the role he particularly enjoys is mentoring and supporting new responders, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to make a difference.

🤍Accompanying Richard on many of his shifts is his trusted mascot, Hamish the Tec, who has become a familiar face to both colleagues and members of the community.

Balancing his volunteering commitments with a busy day job and family life, Richard continues to give his time and experience to support both patients and fellow responders. If you’re out and about in North Northants, keep an eye out for Richard and Hamish, you never know where they’ll be making a difference next. 🚑🐻

💙Meet the newest member to our team, Jayne!

❤️I heard about volunteering as a community first responder (CFR) at the annual Gretton Parish meeting last year where Hilary, a CFR, came to speak about her role.

🤍When I retired recently from nursing it seemed the perfect role for me to volunteer for. I am thrilled to have been accepted and am currently undergoing training. I hope to be able to start to go to help patients soon.

The training is suitable for everyone who is interested in the service and a background in health is not necessary as the training is robust. It’s been great to meet people from other backgrounds who bring a wealth of skills to the team and the service. Being a volunteer in this role is a complete privilege and the CFR team have made me feel very welcome.

💙 Meet Michael, a community first responder from Burton Latimer who not only wanted to support his community but also wanted a new challenge.

❤️Being part of a group that responds to emergency situations is challenging but very satisfying. The group train on a regular basis but also engage socially at organised events and get togethers.
