The first of September is always a hard day – firstly because those “first day of year X” photos start appearing on social media, and we have to look back at ours from three years ago and know that was the last first day, but also because it is the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

A diagnosis is painful for everyone, but with a child you begin to mourn not just the life that you will be lost, but all of the potential and could-have-beens. Every milestone that you celebrate for and with someone else becomes yet another that you know your child will never see.

As Sebastian’s classmates prepare to start year five, we share a thought for everyone who has that horrendous shadow of Childhood Cancer hanging over them.

We have had to take the decision to postpone this year’s Seb Factor to 2027, and our amazing show will now take place every other year.

As you can imagine, it is a big challenge to organise and with full time jobs, a new baby at home, and a team of volunteers who are also very busy, and we want to make sure that our show stays an incredible exerience that raises lots of money..

We are still taking applications for 2027 - so if you have applied already we will carry yours over. Details - along with recording of our previous shows - are at www.thesebfactor.com.

Orange Day 2027 will take place on Friday 12th March, as we once again try to raise lots of money to support local children and their families. Get the date in your diary so you can GO ORANGE!

Happy Birthday Sebastian!

Our superstar was born nine years ago today.

Thanks again to everyone who supported Oeange Day in his memory yesterday. We will be taking donations until we announce the final total for on April 10th.
