We’re planning something exciting… 👀

We’ve been chatting with our members about new ways to raise awareness of who we are, what we do and our impact in the local community.

Some great ideas have come out of those conversations and we’ve now chosen our next big community project - coming this October! 🎉

We’re not quite ready to reveal all the details just yet…

Think you know what it could be? Let us know in the comments! 💙

We ended the summer in style at our Corby centre with a Summer BBQ 🌞

In typical British fashion, the weather wasn’t on our side, but that didn’t dampen everyone’s spirits!

We played a variety of games in the morning before DJ Johnboy got us all on our feet dancing with a disco 🎶

Our delicious BBQ lunch was prepared by Centre Lead Sam and our community champion, Lesley from Asda.

The afternoon included bingo and a raffle, with lots of happy faces when everyone won their prizes.

A huge thank you to our staff team, community champion Lesley and our two wonderful volunteers Rachel and Tinca, who made the day such a memorable one for our members 💙

We love a return customer at our t-shirt enterprise - and this month it was the brilliant Stu Vincent! 🙌

1. We first made Stu’s branded t-shirts last year, and he was back again with another order, which our members enjoyed completing.

That’s one of many things we’ve been up to recently!

2. Norman led a food safety session with our Kettering members, sharing everything he learnt at his placement with Myton Food Group.

3. Kirsten and Barnaby had lots of fun in the kitchen, developing their independent living skills by making caramel apple cookies and a cooling apple lemonade.

4. Our Corby members have been outside regularly, looking after the plants at our Corby centre during the recent heat 🪴

5. We had a game of fitness bingo in Wellingborough, with different challenges on a bingo card. Barnaby, Warren, Louise and Wills were the eventual winners.

6. A group of members went on a fantastic fact finding trip to Higham Ferrers, with a self-guided heritage trail around the town. There were lots of historic buildings and landmarks to discover!

7. Our Corby members also went on a trip, to National Tramway Museum in Crich. We loved every minute of it, exploring tramway history and riding vintage trams.

8. Kettering members enjoyed a musical exploration session, experimenting with a variety of musical instruments and discovering the different sounds they could produce 🎶

9. We also hosted a sensory session, exploring objects hidden inside tactile feel bags, with members describing the textures they felt to identify the objects.

Another action-packed month for us all, with varied, fulfilling activities 👌

Our members took part in a Basic First Aid course recently, learning how to respond in an emergency ⛑️

They watched demonstrations, then practised on a training dummy, working through resuscitation step by step.

Everyone stayed focused and gave it a real go, even when it felt tricky.

Bandaging was next and members practised on each other, following the instructor’s steps and working together to get it right.

They worked as a team, stayed patient and grew in confidence by the end of the session.

Learning life skills like this really matter, and they’re skills that will go way beyond the walls of our three centres 💙

Rachel took the microphone for our latest Staff Spotlight 🎤

She interviewed our Quality and Outcomes Lead Courteney.

Courteney talks about progression, the timetables shaping life at all three of our centres, and a moment that reminded her why her job really matters.

Great job, Rachel and Courteney! 👏

A HUGE well done and thank you to our team of abseilers - Sarah, Jen, Darren and Ralfy - who abseiled down the National Lift Tower over the weekend! 😲👏

They safely made it down the 418ft tower and, between them, raised in the region of £2500, with a few final donations being counted.

Every penny raised is going towards our EV minibus campaign, which will help our members access more activities and opportunities in the community.

To Sarah, Jen, Darren and Ralfy - the biggest thank you from all of us at Teamwork Trust! 💙

“It really is a community with the friendliest, family atmosphere.” 💙

Meet Andrea - one of our dedicated and valued volunteers.

Andrea’s warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine care for others makes a positive difference to us all.

And we recently asked her why she volunteers and what she enjoys most:

“I’ve been volunteering with Teamwork Trust for the past two years. My daughter Sophie, who works for the charity, first told me about the volunteering pathway and encouraged me to get involved.

“She knew I’d find it meaningful, especially because my own father had early-onset dementia and needed daily support. Being able to give my time to a place that supports others in such important ways felt like a natural step.

“I’m now accompanying two members each week in a volunteering role at the Methodist Church - it’s something I genuinely look forward to.

“Together, the members set up and lay out all the tables in preparation for a free two‑course meal offered to people in need.

“They take real pride in the work - it gives them a strong sense of purpose and self‑worth, and they’re always enthusiastic about doing even more.

“I really do enjoy volunteering at Teamwork and would recommend this to anyone who has a spare few hours per week.

“Personally, spending time with the members is just fantastic. I always leave the centre with the biggest smile, having had a chat with almost everyone.

“It really is a community with the friendliest, family atmosphere.”

Sara and our History Club had a great day exploring Deene Park House & Gardens recently 🙌

We enjoyed visiting the living history encampment and watching the display, complete with muskets and pikes.

We had lunch in the grounds and refreshments in the tearoom, before exploring the gardens and the historical house, which has been in the Brudenell family since 1514.

A huge thank you to John Gregory from The Sealed Knot for the invite, and to the current Mr & Mrs Brudenell for our entry tickets 💙

Where next for our History Club?

Our member Jordan has taken on a new role at the British Heart Foundation charity shop in Kettering 💙

He's been volunteering at the shop for a while now, building his confidence in the donations area.

That's where he sorted, tagged and steamed clothing ready for the shop floor.

Now Jordan’s front of house, working the tills, learning the system and getting to know customers face-to-face.

This is an important milestone in his journey, helping him develop valuable workplace skills, build confidence and gain independence by taking on new responsibilities and being part of a work environment.

Well done, Jordan, we're so proud of you 👏

Our member Tristram is going on an aeroplane for the very first time at the end of August! ✈️

He’s very excited to be heading to Canada to visit family, and we wanted to support him ahead of the trip.

Members came together to watch a video about flying, and we produced an easy read walkthrough of the travelling day, the airport and the aeroplane experience.

Some of our members who have flown before discussed their experiences of flying, too.

This is exactly the kind of independence we want for our members: the tools and confidence to take on new experiences beyond our four walls. Preparing for the flight has given Tristram knowledge and confidence he’ll use long after he’s home from Canada.

Have the best time, Tristram! 🫶🇨🇦
