Trust your instinct 🩷

There is never any harm in asking for support and advice when your gut is telling you that something might be not quite right or that your child might need some extra support with their communication.

Best case scenario: The SLT can provide the advice and support your child needs.
Worst case scenario: They reassure you that everything is fine and you don't need an assessment.

I promise you. You didn't waste any one's time and you won't be charged for something you don't need.

A speech and language therapist will never push you to book an assessment when it isn't needed. But we are here to help you judge whether 'waiting' is the best approach. Because we know it can feel hard to make that decision alone 🌸

Sometimes well meaning advice and other parents sharing their advice is super helpful and let's be honest, as parents we all benefit from sharing our exerpeinces with each other.

But sometimes the advice needs a little more context or wider understanding to help us know how to use it and what to listen to, and what to ignore.
