👇 Appointments & enquiries I am a fully insured professional operating in the North Tyneside region and its surrounding areas. Foot problems are common and can affect people of all ages. From corns and calluses to fungal nail and skin diseases, what appears to be something minor and unimportant can cause substantial difficulty with daily activities like walking and exercising. Treatment will take place in the privacy of your own home. I will conduct a Foot Health Check as part of your first session; please allow up to one hour to talk about any relevant medical history. To ensure continuity of care, confidential patient records will be retained. The services that I provide

OUT OF OFFICE – SEVILLE! 🇪🇸☀️

I’m officially away for a few days and will be back on Saturday!

It’s been an absolutely manic few weeks getting everything sorted before going away so apologies if I’ve been a bit slower than usual replying!

If you’ve already been in touch I’ll be catching up with outstanding messages today on the train when I get to Spain…. After that, I’ll be switching off completely for some much-needed downtime!

All new messages and voicemails will be responded to from Saturday. If possible please send a text rather than leaving a voicemail as this makes it much easier for me to get back to you quicker when I’m back with my work phone.

Bookings and enquiries are still welcome so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Just bear with me until I’m back!

I was just standing in the pharmacy when a gentleman a few people in front of me said “I think I’ve got a fungal nail infection.”

He was handed a fungal nail treatment to use once a week costing £24.99…. No questions asked about how much of the nail was affected, whether it was just the tip or the whole nail… etc.

This makes a HUGE difference when it comes to treating fungal nails and not every thickened or discoloured nail is fungal either! Fungal nail infections aren’t a one-size-fits-all situation. What works for one person might not work for another. If the infection has reached the nail matrix (base of the nail) a standard pharmacy treatment will not be enough.

If you think you have a fungal nail infection see a podiatrist. We can assess the nail, advise on testing if needed and recommend the right treatment rather than you wasting money on something that might not even work. 🫡

HOME VISITS UPDATE!

I am no longer taking on any new home visit patients as I am now at full capacity.

I already have a very busy home visit schedule alongside my care homes and sheltered accommodation schemes so I really can’t squeeze anyone else in at the moment.

My main focus now is growing my clinic in Killingworth and filling my Thursday and Friday clinics.

I am still welcoming new patients into clinic and would love to see more of you there!

Please don’t worry if you’re already one of my home visit patients. Your appointments will continue as normal.

I’ll be catching up on all phone calls and messages tomorrow. 🤍

After working quite a few weekends recently I’ve taken some well-needed time away from work and my work phone to enjoy a bit of downtime.

Yesterday was spent celebrating a lovely wedding with Johnny and making the most of being off.

Being a podiatrist is about so much more than just treating feet. It’s about keeping people mobile, comfortable and independent. It’s about listening to their stories, building trust and sometimes just being that friendly face they need.

I’ve always believed there’s so much more to a person than the feet I’m treating and that’s something I’ll always stand by.

I feel so lucky to do a job I love and meet so many wonderful people along the way.

And as for the little girl in this picture I hope she’d be proud of how far we’ve come and the person we’ve become.

So what actually is a corn?

A corn is an area of thick, hard skin that develops from repeated pressure or friction. As that pressure continues the skin builds up and forms a hard central core which can press into the tissue underneath and become really uncomfortable and painful.

The pressure on the tip of the second toe had caused this large corn to develop. The corn and surrounding hard skin were carefully removed using a 15 scalpel blade and the thickened nails were cut and reduced using the podiatry drill.

One treatment and pain free! What a difference.

There’s a lot more that goes into each appointment than the time you see me in clinic.

Decontaminating, cleaning, autoclaving and repacking instruments takes up a lot of time but it’s so important to make sure everything is clean, sterile and safe for every patient. Then there’s restocking, ordering, admin and preparing for home visits too.

It’s all part of running AB Podiatry and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love what I do and making sure everything is done properly for my patients will always be my priority.
