Last Sunday, we brought together our Scottish medical aesthetics community for a day dedicated to something that goes beyond the treatment room: how to make the transition from skilled practitioner to confident, successful business owner.

During the session, we discussed the difficulties that can arise when switching when trying to switch from a healthcare to business mindset, difficulties we have overcame ourselves.

We had the opportunity to discuss our upcoming mindset & business course, which has been written to assist switch this mindset & provide partitioners with the strategies required for sustainable growth!

Does charging make you feel uncomfortable?

Moving from an NHS “healthcare professional” identity into an aesthetic business-owner mindset can make charging feel surprisingly uncomfortable at first.

In the NHS, your value is often expressed through care, outcomes, and service rather than a visible price tag—so asking for payment can feel like you’re “selling” rather than treating.

In private aesthetics, pricing is simply part of ethical practice and sustainability: it reflects your training, time, clinical governance, consumables, indemnity, premises costs, and the responsibility you carry for safe outcomes and complication management.

Reframing fees as the cost of delivering a high-standard, accountable clinical service (not a judgement on the client) can help you charge confidently and consistently.

I’m delighted to finally share that I’ve officially joined Galderma as a Trainer in Scotland.

In this role, I’ll be supporting healthcare professionals through education and business support across products I believe in, including Relfydess, Azzalure, Sculptra and the Restylane filler portfolio.

I’m truly passionate about bringing people together, sharing best practice, and raising standards in our industry, and that reflects Galderma’s values, which is a big part of why I’m so proud to be joining them.

The aim here was to add subtle volume, Improve symmetry & correct the M shape present only on the left side.

With tight lip tissue present, we’ve used a small amount of soft filler to allow time for tissue expansion, avoiding migration.

40 never looked so good! 👌🏽👏🏼

Many of you will know & love the talented Laurissa, who’s been working hard (not only within Amg) but on her skin over the past year. She wanted a glow up to her 40th & she’s certainly got one!

This first photo was taken in April 2025, her skin was dehydrated, fine lines were evident & there were general signs of ageing.

This beautiful lady has been coming to see me since 2022, and what I’m proudest of is the trust we’ve built.

She knows she can bring her concerns, and I’ll give honest guidance, always having her best interests at heart.

She feels comfortable sharing what’s bothering her (no judgement)

We take time to listen, review, adjust, and make decisions based on what she actually needs

We keep everything natural to ensure she still feels like herself

We know Aesthetics isn’t for everyone, and that’s ok!

But every woman deserves autonomy and informed choice in how she wants to age.
