Apparently you can tell a lot about a person by the contents of their handbag… 😬😬

A completely unfiltered look inside mine, featuring the things I carry around every day, the things I’d forgotten were in there, and probably at least one item that raises more questions than answers.

I actually LOVE filming little posts like this because not everything on here needs to be about skincare or running a business. Sometimes you just need to have a rummage through your handbag on the internet 😂

There are lots of things that happen between an empty jar and a White Rabbit parcel landing on your doorstep.

We make our skincare ourselves, in small batches here in Scotland. We fill it, finish it, pack it and send it.
Which also means that when your order comes through, it isn’t disappearing into some enormous fulfilment centre.

It’s us.

We see the familiar names pop up. We notice when you’ve ordered your Calming Cream again. 😂 We recognise some of you who’ve been shopping with us for years.

After 12 years and more than 20,000 orders, that still hasn’t become “normal” to me (it’s still so surreal…!)

I never actually set out to start a skincare brand.

I was trying to solve a problem of my own.
I’ve had psoriasis, and 12 years ago there simply weren’t many natural, vegan skincare options available.

So I started experimenting.

Learning about ingredients. Learning how products were made. Creating formulas. Trying them on my own skin.

And somewhere along the way, something I started because of my own skin became White Rabbit Skincare. 🐰

12 years later, Mum and I are still making our products by hand here in Scotland - only now they’re sitting in bathrooms all over the country rather than just mine. 🤍

It’s quite surreal when I stop and think about it.

White Rabbit has changed enormously over the years, but the reason behind it still matters to me:

lovely, effective skincare made with carefully chosen ingredients, that’s vegan and cruelty-free.

There are certain things I have heard SO many times over the last 12 years that I could probably make a White Rabbit customer bingo card at this point 😂

Hiding moisturiser from husbands.
Daughters mysteriously “borrowing” products.
scraping pots until there is quite literally NOTHING LEFT.

And the classic…

“I only went on the website for one thing.” 👀

But amongst all the funny messages are the ones that still stop me in my tracks.

“Please never stop making this.”

When you make these products yourself, that means more than you probably realise. 🤍

So now I need to know…

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever done to get the VERY last bit out of a skincare product? 😂

Some skincare lessons are lovely to learn. Others you learn after spending £££ on products your skin absolutely did not ask for 😅

After 12 years of making skincare - and talking to thousands of women about theirs - these are a few things I wish more people knew.

Your routine doesn’t need to be complicated.
You don’t need every ingredient currently trending.
And you definitely don’t need to keep changing everything because someone on the internet told you that you should.

One of the biggest skincare wins? Finding a handful of products that your skin genuinely likes and being consistent with them.

Simple can be very, very effective. 🤍

Your skincare routine shouldn’t be another thing you have to remember.

A very normal day at White Rabbit. 🐰

No profound skincare advice or carefully constructed Reel hook, or attempting to convince the algorithm that I’m interesting 😂

Just two women in Scotland making skincare, packing orders, answering emails and occasionally wondering where we put the thing that was literally in our hand 30 seconds ago…😵‍💫

12 years in and this is still pretty much what White Rabbit looks like behind the scenes.
