Are you newly diagnosed with cancer and keen to find out more about how you can best support yourself before you start treatment?

At Ayrshire Cancer Support, we run regular "prehab" workshops that will allow you to connect with others and learn how to: support your physical health, improve your emotional wellbeing, reduce side effects of treatment, and gain a sense of control during what can be an uncertain time.

These workshops last an hour and a half, and are run in person and online by our Cancer Support Specialist. You can also bring someone along with you to the session.

Our next prehab workshop will take place on Monday 22nd June 11am-12:30pm in our Kilmarnock centre.

To find out more or to book your place, get in touch by emailing us at [email protected].

Meet Gillian, Nicolle, Susan and Corinne.

These wonderful ladies recently completed our Navigating Loss and Grief course, designed to help people better understand grief, build resilience, develop coping strategies, and prioritise self-care.

Here's what they had to say about their experience:
"I could not have gotten through the past 2 years without the support this centre has given me."
"Listening to the other women in the group made me feel like I wasn't alone."
"It provided me with tools and knowledge to support me and my family going forward."
"I now understand grief more and have made new friends."

We're so grateful to them for sharing their experiences with us.

If you'd like to learn more about our Navigating Loss and Grief course or reserve a place on our next programme, please email [email protected] or visit one of our centres.

🪴Spaces remaining 🪴

We know the huge benefits nature can have on our wellbeing, and thanks to Trellis, we’re running four Gardening for Wellbeing workshops throughout 2026🪴

Whether it’s getting your hands in the soil, nurturing new life, or simply enjoying the outdoors, gardening can be a powerful way to support both mental and physical health.

Our next Gardening for Wellbeing workshop will focus on potting a herb planter and getting creative with herbal pot pourri pouches and will take place on Tuesday 16th June, 11am-1pm in our Kilmarnock centre.

To book your space, please email us at [email protected] or give us a call on 01563 538008.

What an incredible show of support from our community🧡

A huge thank you to Team TCS Construction Consultants, who took part in the Port of Leith Abseil in Edinburgh and raised a whopping £3,837! Thanks to the generosity of TCS Construction, who matched every pound raised, the total reached an amazing £7,674! We are so grateful for their incredible effort.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Christine and Frank, who chose to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary by organising a charity day filled with raffle and auction prizes generously donated by their local community. Their special celebration raised an incredible £7,000, with Ayrshire Cancer Support receiving £3,500 and Killie Heartmates also benefiting from their generosity. We are truly thankful that they chose to mark such a significant milestone by giving back and making a difference to others.

Thank you to Team TCS, Christine and Frank, and everyone who continues to support our work. Your generosity enables us to continue delivering essential services across Ayrshire, and together you are helping us make a real difference in the lives of those affected by cancer🧡

Our next ‘Under 5’s Chat and Play’ group will take place on Tuesday 16th June in our Ayr centre.

This welcoming drop-in for families who are affected by or bereaved through cancer is an opportunity for parents and carers with children under 5 to connect in a relaxed space to chat, play and spend time with others who understand.

There’s no appointment necessary - just come along for a cuppa, conversation, and a friendly, supportive environment while little ones can enjoy playtime together.
