On Monday 15 June 2026, GP practices will be closed for the bank holiday.

Some community pharmacies will remain open and can provide advice on choosing and using medicines, as well as support for treating common, everyday ailments. NHS 24 also has pharmacists available to answer medicine‑ and pharmacy‑related questions by calling 111.

If you’ve received an invitation, you can:

✅ 📦 Collect a self-sampling kit to use at home
✅ 🩺 Complete your test here at the practice

🚶‍♀️ Just drop in — no appointment needed, if you would rather have a cervical smear instead, that option is still available.

As part of Carers Week 2026, North Ayrshire Carers staff will be in the surgery on Monday 8th June. They’ll be here from 10am – 12.45pm and again from 1.45pm – 4pm, with a stall at the back reception. Patients can drop in for a chat with Ann or Nicole who will be happy to answer questions and share helpful information.

💊 How to order Repeat Prescriptions 💊

📄 Post your repeat prescription in the box at reception

Requests will be picked up within 48hrs by a member of the admin team Sat/Sun requests won’t be picked up until Monday.

Each of the pharmacies collect prescriptions from the practice once or twice a day. Once the prescription has left the practice we have no control over how long they will take to process your request.

Once they reach the pharmacy they are scanned into their system and processed to be dispensed.

These requests can take between 5-7 days to complete.

🧱⚒️ Please note that the council has recently replaced the steps at the rear entrance of the building. A new handrail has not yet been installed, but the council will be returning to complete this work. In the meantime, we kindly ask everyone to take extra care when using the steps. Nexplanon Implant Duration Extended

The Nexplanon contraceptive implant is now licensed for:
Up to 5 YEARS of use

(Previously 3 years)

What this means for you
• Longer-lasting protection against pregnancy
• Replacement now at 5 years of use
• Continued safe and effective contraception

If you currently have Nexplanon
• Your implant may now remain in place for up to 5 years from the date of insertion
• Please check your insertion date or speak to a member of staff if unsure

LISTEN UP LADIES 📢📢

We’re taking part in a new pilot offering HPV self sampling to women aged 30 and over who have never had a cervical smear or haven’t had one in the last 5 years.

This self sample is part of the cervical screening programme and checks for Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which can help identify your risk of developing cervical cancer. It’s a quick swab, easy to do yourself, and shouldn’t be uncomfortable.

You can complete the sample here at the practice in a private area, or take it home if you prefer. If you would rather have a cervical smear instead, that option is still available.

If you fall into this eligible group, we’d encourage you to pop into the practice to request a kit. Information leaflets are available, and our team is happy to answer any questions.
