❌Missed Appointments – June❌

During June, a total of 217 appointments were missed, amounting to 36 hours of clinical time – the equivalent of a full working week for a clinician.

These missed appointments represent 217 patients who could not be seen and 217 missed opportunities for patients to speak to a GP, have blood tests taken, attend a nurse appointment, or receive other essential care.

This level of non-attendance has a significant impact on our ability to provide timely care to all patients.

We strongly encourage patients to contact the practice as soon as possible if they are unable to attend their appointment so that it can be offered to someone else who needs it.

Please be aware that repeated failure to attend appointments without notifying the practice may result in removal from our patient list.

We are continuing to experience clinical staff shortages due to circumstances beyond our control and are working hard to secure additional cover. If your issue is routine and can safely wait, we would be grateful if you could contact us after the next 2 weeks, allowing us to prioritise urgent patients. Please remember our staff are doing their very best under difficult circumstances and deserve courtesy and respect.

‼️Important Update: Temporary Clinical Staff Shortage ‼️

Unfortunately we are experiencing an unexpected shortage of clinical staff for the remainder of this week.

While we understand this situation may cause frustration and delay, these circumstances are entirely outside our control, we kindly ask for your patience, cooperation and respect toward our staff at this time.

Please be advised that the exterior doors and walls on the car park side of our building are being repainted. While warning signs will be in place, please take extra care when entering and exiting the building to avoid contact with wet paint.

‼️ Practice Notice ‼️

Due to clinical staff sickness, we will be operating on an emergency appointments only basis on Friday 10th of July and Monday 13th of July.

Please only contact the practice for urgent medical issues that cannot safely wait until routine services resume.

Pre-booked appointments will still go ahead as planned unless you are contacted by the practice and advised otherwise.

🚨 Our Emergency Departments (A&E) at University Hospital Ayr and University Hospital Crosshouse are extremely busy today. People who attend ED with non-urgent needs will face a long wait.

❌ Did Not Attend (DNA) ❌
During the month of May, 165 appointments were missed without prior cancellation, resulting in 27 hours and 30 minutes of lost clinical time.

This level of non-attendance has a significant impact on service provision, reducing the number of appointments available to other patients and placing unnecessary strain on clinical resources. Missed appointments contribute directly to longer waiting times and decreased access to care.
Patients are expected to cancel appointments they are no longer able to attend.

We strongly urge all patients to contact the practice as soon as possible if they cannot attend. Continued non-attendance may result in removal from our practice list.
