I have been asked this question a few times recently so here are some of the key differences between EMDR and IEMT. I would always advise potential clients to research both to draw their own conclusions.

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) has changed and is now known as Integral Eye Movement Technique.

It is a technique that is delivered over one or two sessions and can be used to process difficult memories and the way they are experienced by the individual.

The memories are not removed, but the negative emotions attached to them can be reduced through guided eye movements.

IEMT can provide rapid and lasting changes to a client’s emotional state. This process involves limited dialogue, meaning clients do not have to repeatedly share painful or traumatic details, which can feel particularly important when emotional responses are difficult to change or talking feels overwhelming.
