Something that terrifies me.
Your children can inherit this gene.
There is a 50% chance you pass this gene to your children. ‼️
So far my GRANDMA we assume had the gene, she had 4 children. 3 boys & 1 girl.👇🏽
2 out of 3 boys have had prostate cancer.👇🏽
1 passed, my dad. The girl also passed from cancer.👇🏽
So out of 4 children, 3 was known to have inherited the BRCA2 gene.👇🏽
My dad also had 3 boys and 1 girl (me), so far only I have been confirmed to have the brca2 gene, my oldest brother was tested and was negative. My other 2 brothers haven't been tested and that's their choice.👇🏽
I have 2 sons. They will be tested at 18 and I pray they are negative!

If breast/prostate/ovarian runs in your family, please request a genetics test. It could save future lives.

"BRCA GENES ONLY EFFECT WOMEN?"
》》》》》WRONG

Everyone has BRCA genes.
Men & Women. 🧔🏻‍♂️👩🏾

Although these genes can present at anytime, there is no evidence to assume these will crop up in childhood. This isn't to say it never has/will.

Genetic testing is currently available to people who are;
☆Living in the UK
☆18+
☆Have a family history of cancer, specifically breast, Ovarian & prostate.
☆Have a primary diagnosis of breast, Ovarian or prostate cancer under the age of 50.

DID YOU KNOW❓️
🩷BRCA genes effect men and women.
💙BRCA is a genetic mutation passed down from a parent.
🩷Children have a 50% chance of inheriting the faulty gene from a BRCA positive parent.
💙BRCA increases lifetime risk of;
~WOMEN; Breast, Ovarian, Melanoma & Pancreatic cancers.
~MEN; Prostate, Breast, Pancreatic and Melanoma cancers .
🩷There is no "fix" for a faulty BRCA gene.
💙Lifetime risk of someone carrying the gene has an increased cancer risk by up to 65%! Compared to up to 12% of someone who doesn't carry the gene!
🩷Having a BRCA gene greatly increases the risk of a cancer diagnosis at a young age.

💓 Hi everyone 💓
Its been a long time since I used this page. I used it to document my cancer journey and spread awareness. However it has recently come to light that not alot of people know or are even aware about the BRCA mutations which causes cancer in younger people to develop at a younger age. So im going to keep spreading awareness and hopefully teach you all a little something about it!! Keep an eye out for my posts 💓 B x

Hi Guys, long time since I last posted so here's the update 👀

The bruising I had on my previous post has now gone, however, there is still some kind of internal bleeding going on 😔 I've had 510ml of blood drained from my b**b within 6 days 😴

Scans haven't shown anything that would be causing is so we're at abit of a loss. It looks like I may have to reconsider the implants (boo 😔)
And begin to think about having the DIEP,,,,,, tissue reconstruction.

This is a massive operation that I have been avoiding at all costs as it is a 10hr op, week in hospital, 2 wound site's. Although I would get a flat stomach out of it 🤣 silver lining and all that!!!

Anyways, I haven't made any decisions yet, but I do know I am sick of having to constantly have my b**b drained, it's painful and I just can't carry on as I am 🥴🥹

I've stuck some info below for anyone wondering what a DIEP is.

Oh and, HAPPY NEW YEAR, Hope yours has started better than mine 🤣🫶🏼❤️

Evening guys, I hope your all doing well!
Long time since I last posted!!
Things have been going OK, to an extent.
However, this is me and where there's me there's complications 🥲
So over the past 4 weeks, my original mastectomy side has become bruised, which has gradually gotten more painful and more bruised 😮‍💨
Anyways Long story short, I went to have it scanned Thursday night and turns out I have an internal bleed🥲
They managed to drain some off (40ml) which was pure blood, but they couldn't tell me why its happened and couldn't tell where the bleedings coming from. So MRI on Wednesday to find out.
Fingers crossed this will resolve itself and won't have to have more surgery.
It's painful and putting alot of pressure on my chest and arm.
Absolutely fed up😮‍💨
