Last year you may remember we asked for participants with OSA to join the Loughborough University 'Caffeine Nap' Study.
The results are now published, and along with the safety device of never driving tired (even without a diagnosis of sleep apnoea), they discovered 2 x coffees ☕️☕️with a 15 minute nap 😴 can temporarily help in emergencies.

Researchers have issued bespoke advice for drivers with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) after finding that common guidance for tackling tiredness behind the wheel may not be the most effective approach for people with the condition.

Great to see the good news that the Inspire Therapy UK is now available at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as an alternative sleep apnoea treatment for suitable patients. Nice also to see our own chairman, Samantha Backway in the video and hear from Catherine, the patient herself.

It was a concern due to such long waiting lists for a Sleep Apnoea diagnosis and treatment in many parts of Scotland, when the The .post called us for an interview to say that they'd discovered at least 530 deaths in Scotland in the past 5 yrs were recorded with listed as the cause or contributory factor 😢
The Scottish Government Health Secretary, Angela Constance said: “We want to ensure everyone at risk of heart disease or stroke, through sleep apnoea or other underlying causes, has timely and equitable access to diagnosis, treatment and care."
