🩷 Dilemmas from the therapy room... I've reached a time in my life where I just want to do something different job-wise. I've been thinking about leaving my job and re-training to work with mental health patients. My husband & daughter say to go for it, but a few of my friends & my 2 of my sisters are saying that I should play it safe, stay where I am & have even joked I must be going through a mid-life crisis. They've put me off. Is 55 too late to change my career now? - Charlotte
🩷 It's absolutely not too late in life to re-train. It's surprisingly common for women who have spent years staying in the same job, bringing up a family & keeping all the plates spinning, to start thinking about themselves more & looking towards the future. As retirement age isn't until 67, you have at least another 12 yrs to work. So ask yourself what do YOU really want? If its the career in mental health, and it sounds like it is, then get researching courses. Try not to listen to your sisters or your friends, they're not your cheerleaders and may even secretly wish they could do something different too, some people project their own disappointments or regrets onto others. So don't have any regrets too, it's time for you to feel fulfilled in your career. And it's not a mid-life crisis, its Mid-Life Reset - Mandi x🌟✨️
