We are one of England’s National Training Centres for Endoscopy and have been providing training for doctors and nurses and non-medical endoscopists since 1995. We are JAG approved (Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy

📣 2026 so far at the East Yorkshire School of Endoscopy!

It’s been a fantastic year of learning, teaching and developing endoscopy skills. 🎓🔬

So far in 2026, we’ve:
✨ Run 20 courses
👩‍⚕️ Welcomed 132 trainees to EYSE
📚 Continued to support the next generation of endoscopists through hands-on training and education.

And there’s plenty more to come! Our upcoming programme includes courses in colonoscopy, PEG insertion, upper GI endoscopy and trainer development, running through to February 2027.

We’ve started our week at EYSE with our Basic Skills in Colonoscopy course. 👏

Our delegates have been getting stuck into a combination of theory, hands-on simulation and practical training, putting their learning into practice throughout the day.

Following their theory session this morning, delegates have been developing their skills through hands-on simulation practice, before moving on to patient procedures this afternoon.

This JAG-accredited course is designed to support clinicians in developing the essential knowledge, skills and confidence needed to perform high-quality colonoscopy. 🩺

It’s been a fantastic start to the week, with plenty of learning, discussion and practical experience taking place.

Well done to all our delegates — we’re looking forward to the rest of the week! 🌟

Develop your knowledge and practical skills with expert faculty on this JAG-approved hands-on course, using linear and radial scopes for diagnostic imaging and cancer staging, as well as the full range of invasive procedures FNA/FNB, coeliac blocks and neurolysis, Axios tenting, and insertion of fiducials.

Another fantastic week of training at the East Yorkshire School of Endoscopy (EYSE). 🎉

We were delighted to deliver three JAG-accredited courses:
• Basic Skills in Colonoscopy🩺
• Polypectomy Skills👨🏼‍⚕️
• Upper GI Haemostasis💉

These courses provided an excellent opportunity for our own gastroenterology and surgical trainees from Hull and beyond to develop their knowledge, technical skills, and confidence in advanced endoscopic procedures within a supportive training environment.

A huge thank you to our dedicated faculty – Anca, Ganesh , Julie, Yassir, Jack and Helen – whose expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment continue to make these courses such a success.

Special mention to Laura, Carl and Glyn for your excellent technical work this week!

We are also grateful to Olympus Corporation , Cook Medical and PENTAX Medical for their ongoing support in helping us deliver high-quality endoscopy training.

Together, we’re investing in the future endoscopy workforce and improving patient care through excellence in education.
