A week ago today, Chris from Taylor Made Wheelchairs Ltd carried out an assessment in London with the incredible Magic Mobility XT4.

Despite a rainy afternoon, we spent the day exploring some of London’s most iconic locations with a very lovely gentleman who wanted to trial the XT4 in places he can’t usually access in his everyday powerchair, as well as prepare for an upcoming trip to the desert!

The XT4 was put through its paces around Buckingham Palace, the beautiful parklands of Central London, and along the paths surrounding The Serpentine, with a few well-earned coffee stops along the way.

It was fantastic to see the XT4 opening up new possibilities and providing confidence on a wide variety of terrain, even in challenging weather conditions.

After our post yesterday about our client Harley making the news, we were delighted to receive these two fantastic photos of Harley’s chair and track wheel in action — proving they really do go everywhere with him!

These images show Harley taking on the Ten Tors Challenge across Dartmoor, not once, but twice. An incredible achievement and a testament to determination, resilience, and the right equipment making a difference.

We just had to share!

It’s wonderful to see one of our clients, Harley, enjoying life and making the news.

Chris from TaylorMade Wheelchairs first met Harley while he was still in hospital. We received a call from our friends at Barton Hill Rugby Club Charity Café, who told us about a young boy they wanted to fund a wheelchair for and asked if we could visit him.

From the very beginning, Harley’s mum and dad wanted him to have as much independence as possible—whether that was going to school, spending time with friends, or simply getting out and about. After assessing Harley’s needs, we prescribed a Quickie QS5 X and a Rehasense PAWS handbike.

These products have made a huge difference to Harley’s daily life and continue to support his independence. Seeing him thrive and get on with life as any young person his age should is exactly why we do what we do.

A huge thank you to our friends at Barton Hill Rugby Club Charity Café. None of this would have been possible without their generosity, dedication, and hard work. We’re incredibly proud to have played a small part in Harley’s journey and look forward to seeing what he achieves next. Barton Hill Rugby Club Charity Cafe

So lovely to see this young man getting on with life and doing what young people should be doing. A few years ago now we were asked by our friends Barton Hill Rugby Club Charity Cafe to assess young Harley who was still in hospital. Mom and Dad wanted him to have as much independence as possible for him to get to school and be able to go out with friends. We prescribed a Quickie QS5X and a Rehasense Paws Bike. These products helped and still helping him today. We did catch up with Harley just before Christmas as he made a visit to the store for a repair on his bike. Keep up the good work Harley and just enjoy life. ♥️

Harley was 12 when he was left partially paralysed after surgery.
Now he is encouraging others with similar disabilities to join a frame football team in Tuffley ❤️ ➡️ https://bbc.in/4vFILWV

At Taylor Made Wheelchairs we are always being asked what’s the best way to stay dry when it’s pouring with rain ☔️ outside. Here’s a few suggestions:

* A waterproof wheelchair poncho or cape that covers both you and your lap.
* Waterproof trousers or a lap blanket for heavy rain.

* A wheelchair umbrella or canopy if you prefer keeping rain off your face and upper body.

* Waterproof covers for cushions, controls, and any power-chair electronics.

* A spare dry layer packed in a waterproof bag for longer trips.

The photos attached of one of our clients power chairs a Q300 with scoot control. They wanted a rain cover come sun shade for days like today.

Another wonderful handover with Barton Hill Rugby Club Charity Café for young Maya.

The amazing team at the Charity Café have done it again, raising the funds needed for Maya’s new wheelchair. Her mum needed a chair that would keep Maya safe and comfortable while out and about, especially for their upcoming trip to Euro Disney, which Maya is so excited about.

The team at the café are truly incredible people. Time and time again, they work tirelessly to raise money for children who need essential equipment, making a real difference to local families.

The Charity Café runs every Monday and Wednesday from 12pm–3pm, serving food and hosting stalls selling clothes and all sorts of bargains. If you’re in the area, please pop in, support them, and see the fantastic work they do.

I can’t say it enough – they are all absolutely amazing! 🤩

Thank you for everything you do for children like Maya. ❤️
