Could guilt be running your life without you even realising it?
I’ve been exploring the Guilt Wound, and it has made me look very differently at some of the patterns so many women experience.
Especially mums.
The mum who feels guilty because she works.
Guilty because she doesn't work.
Guilty because she missed the school assembly.
Guilty because she took time for herself.
Guilty because she said no.
Guilty because dinner wasn't homemade.
Guilty because she was tired.
Guilty because she wants more for herself.
And somehow…
nothing ever feels like enough.
The Guilt Wound can carry the deep belief:
“Everything is my fault.”
And underneath that can be another belief:
“I deserve to be punished.”
So how might this show up?
You might find yourself saying sorry constantly — even when you haven't actually done anything wrong.
You might automatically take responsibility for everyone else's feelings.
You might replay conversations over and over:
He said this…
She said that…
Maybe I shouldn't have said that…
Maybe it was my fault…
You go into your head trying to work everything out…
when what you're really longing for is to come back into your heart.
You stay stuck in the he said, she said.
You analyse.
You justify.
You explain.
You defend.
YAnd meanwhile, your own feelings, needs and inner knowing can get lost.
Guilt can also keep us repeating patterns that leave us feeling punished, choosing relationships or situations that reinforce the belief that something is wrong with us.
You may even find yourself thinking:
“Why does this always happen to me?”
The same relationship patterns.
The same conflicts.
The same self-sabotage.
The same feeling that somehow you are the one who has to pay the price.
In the work I’ve been studying, there is a phrase that really landed for me:
“Guilt seeks punishment.”
Not because we consciously want to suffer.
But because an unconscious part of us may believe:
You try to work out who was right and who was wrong .“I did something wrong, so something bad must happen to me.”
And perhaps you've carried this for so long that you don't even recognise it as guilt anymore.
It just feels like who you are.
But what if it isn't?
What if there is a wounded part of you underneath all that guilt that simply wants to be seen?
What if you could begin to ask:
What did I decide about myself?
When did I decide it?
What have I been carrying that was never mine to carry?
And perhaps the biggest question:
What would happen if I stopped punishing myself?
This is the deeper level of work I explore through MIT — Medical Intuitive Technique.
My introductory sessions are currently £50 while I build my practice and become established.
This isn't about me telling you what's wrong with you.
It's a guided spiritual and emotional exploration of the patterns, beliefs and wounded parts that may be asking for your attention.
If you're a woman who is constantly saying sorry…
feeling responsible for everyone…
living in your head…
struggling with guilt…
or wondering why you keep repeating the same patterns…
perhaps it's time to explore what is underneath it.
