We’d like to say a sincere thank you to all of our patients for your patience, understanding, and kindness while we’ve been carrying out our recent clinical system upgrade.

We know there have been some delays and changes to our usual way of working, and we truly appreciate your support as our team adapts to the new system.

While the upgrade is now complete, we will still be a little slower than usual in dealing with your requests as we continue to navigate and become familiar with the new system. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding during this transition.

We have received reports from neighbours of Gatehouse Surgery regarding the alarm sounding during the early hours of this morning.

If you are signed up to EMIS Access to order prescriptions online please be aware from today will receive an email asking you to sign up for the same service with our new clinical system. You must do this before you can order prescriptions online.

More than 100 hearing aids are lost locally each month. NHS hearing aids are loaned to patients and should be returned when no longer needed.
If you have an old or found hearing aid, please return it clearly marked HEARING AID AMNESTY to Audiology, Mountainhall Treatment Centre, Bankend Road, Dumfries, DG1 4AP, or hand it in at your GP surgery for internal post.
Returned hearing aids can be recycled, repaired under warranty, or donated to support projects in developing countries.

As patients maybe aware a new system is being rolled out within Dumfries and Galloway and it’s now getting close for both Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse to have this implemented. Below is a useful information sheet on how it will affect patients within the practice.

***Both sites will have a limited service between 14th-24th July****

If you are due to reorder prescriptions during this time please make sure you have enough to cover this period as we will be unable to issue any prescriptions at all. The prescription line will be switched off around 5pm on the 10th July.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are unsure about anything during this time.
