Today is 🚭

The grip of addiction can be broken if you Quit Your Way, and the benefits are felt almost immediately.

If you go smoke-free:

· Your heart rate drops in 20 minutes

· Your lung function improves in 2–12 weeks

· And in 1 year, your risk of heart disease is cut in half.

What's holding you back from calling it quits?

Have you previously been supported by East Dunbartonshire HSCP’s Older People Local Area Co-ordination (LAC) Team?

They may be in touch this summer with a short phone survey to hear about your experience. Your feedback will help them understand what’s working well and where they can improve support for older people.

If they’ve helped you connect with local groups or activities, they would really like to know how that’s impacted your wellbeing.

The team will always identify themselves clearly and no personal information will be requested.

This Foster Care fortnight East Dunbartonshire Council are sharing local stories of fostering 👇

This Foster Care Fortnight we are celebrating different stories across the fostering community.

Maureen's fostering journey started following an experience in her former career. In the course of her work she had to visit a home where she witnessed young children living in a state of neglect, and who were subsequently taken into care. She was so affected by what she had seen, and the helplessness that she had felt at the time, that she decided to apply to be a foster carer. She wanted to offer a safe, stable home for children like the ones she had seen, but hadn’t been able to help. She and her husband Bill have been fostering for 13 years.

Read Maureen’s story - in her own words - on our website. Link in the first comment
