Morning All 🥰
I had a message last night after class, from someone who had seen the party in flow at The Hollies, and she wanted to join in! So for those who don’t know about us, here is who and what we are.
I am a Psychologist and lecturer of Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University, and I work in the Staveley community with a wide range of people in group and one-to-one settings. My areas of expertise are working to create positive mental health for individuals and communities, creating healthy relationships and encouraging socialisation and belonging. This then reduces stress, anxiety, depression, and increases confidence, self-esteem, self efficacy and builds friendships, companionships and community. This promotes a healthy mind, and with that comes a healthier body; reducing physical illnesses from bad backs and joint and muscle problems, to menopausal symptoms! 😃
How do I do this? I use music, movement and a fun environment! I encourage people to relax, to let go, to realise their own capabilities, and all in a non-competitive and non-judgmental way. We laugh, we sing, we dance. We notice and appreciate our own bodies, and we make no apologies for who and what we are. Our ages range from 14 to people in their 80’s, and we have wheelchair users to athletic people! The common factor between us ALL is that we can completely be ourselves in my class, and are celebrated for it 🥰
If you feel that you could benefit from my ShaBumba class and would like to meet new friends, please contact me for booking details. You won’t find this class anywhere else as it purely my own creation, so here is where to find us:
Tuesdays at 7.15pm - The Hollies, Inkersall.
Wednesdays at 5.30pm - The Healthy Living Centre, Staveley.
I’m looking forward to seeing you! 🥳
