This piercing will never get old 😍😍😍
It’s that time of year again, where everyone rushes to their chosen piercing for a navel piercing but here are some thing to consider…
❤️ Do you have the correct anatomy?
This piercing is anatomy dependent, meaning not everyone is suitable for a traditional navel piercing. Piercing a navel with the incorrect anatomy can prolong the healing period and cause discomfort, in most circumstances causing the piercing to grow out, leaving scar tissue behind.
Please pop in should you be wondering if you have the correct anatomy.
❤️ We recommend avoiding swimming throughout the whole healing process!
You may want to take a look at your calendar to check for upcoming holidays… we STRONGLY advise to avoid swimming for a minimum of 12 weeks. Piercings can take over 12 months to heal, and any swimming in this time can set your piercing’s healing journey back. Take this into consideration when timing your navel piercing.
❤️ Your healing can be affected by hormones and your menstrual cycle.
Be mindful, during your entire healing period, your hormones can temporarily upset your piercing. Keep saline to hand and clean daily to get your piercing back on track.
❤️ We recommend covering your piercing.
To avoid unnecessary friction on clothing, we recommend to cover your piercing if wearing any garments that may make contact with your belly button.
Friction in the area can delay healing and in some circumstances can even cause irritation bumps.
❤️ We suggest keeping jewellery in place for a minimum of 12 consecutive months.
To prevent the piercing from closing up, you must keep jewellery in the piercing for a minimum of 12 months.
If you are required to remove the jewellery for any period of time within the first year of your initial piercing, it is likely it will close.
Hope this helps you choose the right time for your navel piercing 🖤
