⭐️ Star Pose with Supported Hips ✨

Part of the Prolapse Recovery Plan.

After a day of stress, work, rushing around, lifting, carrying, or simply being constantly on, your body needs an opportunity to downshift and recover.

This gentle supported Star Pose helps reduce tension, encourage relaxation, and create space for your pelvic floor and breathing muscles to work together more effectively.

🌿 Support your hips with cushions, bolsters, or pillows.

🌿 Allow your legs and arms to relax out to the sides.

🌿 Breathe deeply into your ribs, belly, and back body.

🌿 Soften your jaw, shoulders, belly, and pelvic floor.

🌿 Stay for 5–10 minutes and let your nervous system settle.

Recovery isn’t just about strengthening. It’s also about knowing when to slow down, rest, and give your body the conditions it needs to heal.

Combine this pose with deep diaphragmatic breathing and conscious pelvic floor relaxation as part of your daily recovery practice.

I am cream crackered!!

Just taught Week 3 of my 4 week ‘Strong From Inside Out’ program - which was all about nervous system, and how it’s directly linked to our pelvic floor health, plus posture, plus deep body scan, plus alignment, plus stretches and strengthening exercises. Already ladies are feeling the difference which is 👍👍👍

I’ve taught a full week of classes, and had lots of lovely clients.

Last night I taught a lush solstice ☀️ breathwork session, where we cleared a load of 💩 and all the things we carry with us.

I’ve got kettlebell class in the morning, then I’m off to the beach with my 🧙‍♀️ sisters to celebrate the solstice in the North Sea 🌊

Hay fever is killing me, but life goes on!

🚻 INCONTINENCE WEEK - it’s World Incontinence Week

Let’s talk about something that far too many women silently struggle with… but very few are ever properly taught about.

Leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, run…or that sudden “I need the toilet NOW” feeling the moment you put the key in the door.

This is not just ‘getting older’ and it is definitely not something you simply have to live with.

There are two main patterns we’re working with inside Strong From the Inside Out (STIO):

💥 Stress incontinence
Leakage with pressure - coughing, jumping, lifting, sneezing.
This is often about load management and pressure through the core and pelvic floor system.

⚡ Urge incontinence
That sudden, overwhelming need to go — often triggered by routines, stress, or ‘key in the door’ moments.
This is a brain–bladder communication pattern, not just a bladder problem.

👉 Both can be retrained
👉 Both respond to movement, awareness, and nervous system regulation
👉 And neither mean your body is broken

This week inside ‘Strong From Inside Out’, we went deeper into -
✨ Understanding your bladder signals
✨ Learning the difference between stress + urge patterns
✨ Re-training the brain–bladder connection
✨ Building strength from the inside out (literally)

This time we’re going full solar plexus activation with the sun at its peak power.

This is a space for women who want to shift suppression- emotion, mental, physical and spiritual.

We ain’t messing around - this isn’t comfort zone gentle breathing - this is full on messy, snotty, shift that insidious noise that us women carry around constantly.

Let’s join together as a group of women, and move that BS through and out.

This is a powerful time energetically, and we can use that solar power for the good of womankind.

Just feel into that quote - we have to stop messing around and taking our health first granted. We’re are not getting a second chance here!

Midlife is when we finally stop apologising for taking up space. It’s time you realise that constantly putting ourselves last isn’t noble, it’s just so flippin exhausting.

Your body starts sending messages that can no longer be ignored.

Leaking when you sneeze, heaviness in your pelvis, aching joints, fatigue…the gift that keeps on giving, right?!?

Something has to change.

For years we’ve pushed through, soldiered on, looked after everyone else and worn our self-neglect like a badge of honour. Then one day the universe taps us firmly on the shoulder and says - that’s it sista, you’ve got to start showing up for yourself!

Here’s your reckoning…✨🔥

It’s time to come home to ourselves. Start building strength instead of chasing thinness. Valuing rest as much as productivity. Listening to our bodies instead of fighting them.

Stop accepting pelvic floor problems, pain, and discomfort as “just part of being a woman.”

Well deserved honour 👏

Huge congratulations to our Chief Executive Rhiannon Hiles, who has been appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours.

Rhiannon was awarded the honour for services to museums and to the culture and heritage of North East England.

Rhiannon is a passionate advocate for museums, heritage and the North East. She joined Beamish, The Living Museum of the North in 1995 as a volunteer and Engager and made Beamish her career. Rhiannon has been Chief Executive since 2021, leading the museum’s team of 520 staff and 400 volunteers.

She said: “I am deeply proud to have received this honour for services to museums and to the culture and heritage of North East England. To be recognised in this way for my passion for the region, and for representing its people and their stories, means a great deal to me and has had a profound impact. I feel this honour also belongs to everyone who has supported me in my commitment to placing heritage and culture at the centre of people’s lives. I love leading Beamish and working with our fantastic team of staff and volunteers, championing the role of museums at the heart of communities.

“I feel privileged to be recognised for this work and I will continue to ensure the cultural heritage of the North East remains at the forefront of social and economic life, and I accept this honour with humility and sincere gratitude to those who have placed their faith in me.”
