A reminder that I am running a Sensing Hands workshop Saturday 5th September 11am to 4pm at St Mary's Church Hall, Tower St Launceston. Cost £25. Everyone welcome, no experience necessary.

For me, when we remove the elements of competition or trickery and skills, Pushing Hands or as it is better translated Sensing Hands reveals it's true worth improving softness and sensitivity and being a path to the Qi. It's practice also has the added benefit of improving our interactions with people.

We will learn how to yield and neutralise, how to stick and follow with some classic practices I have learnt over the years that I have found useful. It should be fun!

Please book a place (or turn up), thank you to those who have already booked.

Best, Phil

Solstice greetings! Classes have ceased for the festive period and will re-start in the week of January 5th 2026. Beginners and returners are welcome - Tai Chi is probably best explained as a martial art where you master the energy within yourself. It's about achieving deep relaxation and merging of body and mind.

All my classes are open to beginners at the moment. We have Tuesday Evening Tai Chi at 7pm at St Mary's Church hall where we shall learn a concise Tai Chi form to put our principles into. Same Wednesday mornings at 10am. Friday at 10am at Lifton Community Centre has my QiGong class - come and learn energy work. All my teachings are based on understanding the Qi or how we can get the energy to work for us.
