πŸ€” Was this ever a corn?

We previously treated this lesion as a corn.

Simple.

Or so we thought.

This time, something caught our attention.

The lesion bled much more than we'd typically expect during corn treatment, and there appeared to be multiple small capillaries within the tissue.

That's often more characteristic of a verruca than a pressure-related corn.

So now we're wondering whether this could actually represent scar tissue from an old verruca rather than a true corn.

Feet don't always read the textbook, and sometimes even lesions we've treated for years can surprise us.

What do you think?

Corn, verruca, or old verruca scar tissue? πŸ‘£

πŸ‘€ Look who's back...

If you've been following us for a while, you'll recognise this corn immediately.

This is the same lesion that featured in one of our most popular videos and became known as our "famous corn" thanks to the depth of the cavity it left behind.

So naturally, when the patient returned, we had one question:

Would it be just as deep this time?

Corns form because of repeated pressure and friction. Over time, the skin creates a dense central core which can become incredibly painful when walking.

This one certainly didn't disappoint.

But the real surprise is waiting in Part 2...

Because the second lesion on this foot may not be a corn at all πŸ‘€

πŸ‘€ Our most famous corn is back.

If you've been following us for a while, you'll recognise this one.

Last time, this corn left behind a cavity that had the comments section talking for weeks.

So when the patient returned, there was only one question...

Would it be just as deep and just as satisfying as before?

Corns form due to repeated pressure and friction, causing the skin to develop a dense central core.

Even after successful treatment, if the underlying pressure remains, they can gradually return.

This one certainly didn't disappoint.

With two huge sporting events happening during this summer of sport, we thought our window deserved a little makeover πŸ‘€

We've got the football taking centre stage ahead of tonight's game against Ghana πŸ‡¬πŸ‡βš½

And, thanks to Roxanne, the Women's T20 Cricket World Cup has managed to make an appearance too πŸ˜‚πŸ

Good luck to the team tonight, and to the women as they take on the West Indies at Lord's tomorrow πŸ™Œ

We're not saying there's a favourite sport in the clinic... but one of us may have had a little more influence over the design than the others 😏

Who will you be cheering on? πŸ‘‡πŸ’›

πŸ‘€ Most people will swipe off this video.

It just looks like a boring corn… at first.

But this one turned out to be far more interesting than it appeared on the surface.

As we began reducing the surrounding hard skin, the central core became more defined β€” and it quickly became clear this was a deep, well-established corn.

Corns develop due to repeated pressure and friction over time. The skin responds by forming a dense plug that can extend deeper than expected into the tissue.

This is why patients often describe the sensation as:
πŸͺ¨ β€œwalking on a stone”
πŸ“ β€œstepping on a drawing pin”

Once removed, you can really see the cavity left behind β€” showing just how much pressure was concentrated in that small area.

A tiny bit of bleeding is occasionally seen in deeper lesions, which reflects how significant the underlying pressure had been.

Definitely not as β€œboring” as it first looked πŸ‘£

πŸ‘£ This is what we mean by "manual reduction."

We often recommend reducing fungal nails before applying antifungal treatments.

Why?

Because fungal infections don't just sit on the surface of the nail.

As the nail becomes thicker and more damaged, it becomes increasingly difficult for topical treatments to pe*****te through to the affected area.

By carefully reducing the thickness of the nail, we're helping antifungal treatments reach where they need to go.

And this is the bit many people struggle to do at home.

It's not simply a case of trimming the nail shorter.

We're reducing thickness, removing damaged nail material, and creating a better environment for treatment.

Manual reduction isn't a cure by itself.

But it can be an important part of successful fungal nail management.

This time we just have a pair of boring, healthy-looking feet.

But that's exactly why we're sharing them.

Because these feet didn't always look like this.

This patient used to suffer with:
⚠️ Corns
⚠️ Apical callus
⚠️ Underlying wounds
⚠️ Significant pressure-related skin build-up

They were often in pain between appointments.

Years of regular podiatry care, pressure management, and preventative treatment have helped transform these feet.

Today?
βœ… No active wounds
βœ… Minimal callus
βœ… Comfortable between appointments

Sometimes the biggest success stories aren't the dramatic ones.

They're the ones where problems don't happen anymore.

18/06/2026

πŸ‘€ Let's play podiatrist for 40 seconds.

How many treatment areas can you spot?

Most people notice the obvious ones straight away.

But this foot was hiding a total of 5 corns and an area of callus.

Some corns are easy to see.

Others are buried within surrounding hard skin and only become obvious once treatment begins.

That's why patients are often surprised when we find more than one source of pain during an appointment.

Small corns can be just as painful as large ones, especially when they're sitting directly under a pressure point.

So...

How many did you spot before we gave them away? πŸ‘£
