If you have been suddenly diagnosed with a congenital or inherited heart condition we would love to hear from you.

myheart offers help and support to people with cardiac conditions. If you are a between the ages of 12 and 35 and have been diagnosed with one of the following conditions, myheart can help you.
- Cardiomyopathies such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) and dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM)
- Ion channelopathies such as long QT syndrome (LQTS), Brugada syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), progressive cardiac conduction defect (PCCD) and short QT syndrome (SQTS)
- Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW)
- Marfan syndrome
- Myocarditis
- Coronary artery anomalies
- Premature coronary artery disease
- Familial hypercholesterolemia

Register now for the Autumn virtual myheart meeting taking place on Saturday, 21st November 2026

There will be a question and answer session with Dr. Raghav Bhatia, Consultant Cardiologist and service lead for Inherited Cardiac Conditions and Sports Cardiology at NHS Humber Health Partnership, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He is also a lecturer at City St. George’s, University of London, and serves as a cardiologist for Cardiac Risk in the Young and the My Heart Network. In this session, members can ask questions they have about their condition, the exercise/s they can do or any other cardiac concerns they may have especially with regards to current circumstances.

myheart member Kaitlin Lawrence and CRY supporter Hilary Nicholls joined the Little and Large podcast for a special episode about Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Hilary shares the heartbreaking story of the death of her 20-year-old daughter, Clarissa, from a sudden cardiac arrest. Kaitlin, whose life was saved after collapsing and receiving an ICD implant, shares her experience of diagnosis and recovery.

Together, they discuss the reality of hidden heart conditions in young people, the importance of cardiac screening, and why schools can play a vital role in helping prevent future tragedies.

This is an emotional but ultimately hopeful conversation about raising awareness, empowering families, and turning personal experiences into life-saving advocacy.

I wish that cardiac screening was a national programme so I could be diagnosed years ago by Liam Harper

"I do wish that screening was a national programme that I could have had years ago. I was born with this condition but only found out I had it when my body couldn’t compensate any more. If I had known that I had this condition years ago, it could have been managed and monitored and may have bought me more healthy time to enjoy my football for longer and I, and my family would not have endured the stress and anxiety caused by misdiagnosis and delayed treatments at the beginning of this journey.

"Since my diagnosis, my family have all been screened and my dad also has heart failure, and my middle brother’s heart has lower than normal function. So screening is vital!"

I went to play a football match but was diagnosed with ARVC! by Chris J. Bernard

Outcomes of a nationwide cardiac screening programme – with a focus on young females

According to a new, CRY-funded study (an important subsidiary of the seminal research paper published earlier this year in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology), young women should be encouraged to attend cardiac screening sessions with greater awareness needed to ensure that these so called ‘hidden killers’ are not just perceived as a risk to young ‘sporty men’.
