“This face doesn’t need more filler.”
It’s a statement that often surprises patients.
One of the biggest misconceptions in facial rejuvenation is that fillers and facelifts achieve the same thing. In reality, they address different aspects of ageing.
Fillers are designed to restore volume and can be an excellent option for carefully selected patients. However, as we age, it’s not just volume that changes. Tissues descend, the jawline softens, jowls develop, and skin laxity becomes more apparent.
In these situations, adding more volume may not address the underlying cause and can sometimes make the face appear heavier rather than more refreshed.
A facelift doesn’t add volume. Instead, it repositions tissues that have shifted over time, helping restore definition and facial balance.
The right treatment isn’t about choosing filler or surgery. It’s about understanding what is causing the change in the first place.
