Good to bring Health and Care Leaders together yesterday.
There’s a lot changing across the Leeds health and care system, and this session felt like an important moment to pause, share thinking, and hear directly from partners.
We heard about the scale of change in commissioning, with a shift towards West Yorkshire and a stronger role for the Leeds Provider Partnership. Alongside that, Leeds City Council set out its prevention agenda, with a clear focus on reducing demand, working earlier, and building on the strengths already in communities.
Across our breakout discussions, a few things stood out:
• The pace of change is significant. There are real implications for how the third sector engages with the system
• There is a clear opportunity for the sector to play a stronger role in prevention and neighbourhood working
• A stronger, more coordinated Third Sector voice will be increasingly important
There was also a strong sense that, despite structural change, the fundamentals remain the same. People, communities and relationships still sit at the centre of this work.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the conversation. If you are a VCSE / Third Sector leader who hasn’t been to one of our events and you want to engage with us, drop us an email at [email protected] , and join the conversation.
