Your baby’s brain is growing fasted in the first three months of life than at any other time.

This, and the first 1001 days, is a unique window of opportunity that will shape their future.

Think of their brain like a garden:
🌱 The seeds are there at birth.
💧 Love waters the soil.
☀️ Connection provides the warmth of sunlight.
🌸Understanding helps the flowers bloom.

But when baby is unsettled, struggling with feeding, reflux, or colic, it can feel overwhelming. You may feel like you can’t nurture that garden the way you want to.

I can help you get to the root of of these issues and show you the path to calm—so your baby can thrive, feel safe, and make the most of this incredible phase.

Want a cheat code so your baby or child can fall asleep more easily? …The magic of gentle pressure before sleep

Did you know that your gentle hands can help your baby (or older child) drift off more peacefully?
Applying light, firm (never hard) pressure to your baby’s body — like placing your warm hand on their chest, tummy, arms and legs — helps release calming hormones such as oxytocin and serotonin, which lower stress and promote sleep.

It’s nature’s way of telling your baby: “You are safe. You can rest.” 💛

🌙 Try this before naps or bedtime:
1️⃣ Hold your baby close, with calm breathing. For an older child, give them a big hug!
2️⃣ Place a gentle, steady hand on their chest or torso. Add little squeezes down their arms and legs
3️⃣ finish by holding and massaging the feet

This type of nurturing touch regulates their nervous system, helping them switch out of “alert” mode and into “rest and digest” — the perfect state for sleep.

💛 It’s simple. It’s natural. And it works.

One of my pet peeves as a midwife and newborn care specialist…

Societies expectation that babies can (and should) easily be put down to sleep. The reality is this often results in your baby crying…and you feeling like a failure.

Your baby isn’t broken. And you haven’t failed.

They’re simply wired for closeness, safety, and connection.

The real failure is a society that tells mothers they should be able to put their baby down and walk away.

The truth? Peace comes when we understand biology and work with it — not against it.

That’s exactly what I’ll teach you inside The Calm Baby Blueprint. 💛

Are you ready for calm?

Neuroscience has proven there’s a critical window of opportunity for the brain in the first three months of life.

The brain grows faster now than at any other time and a baby’s brain is incredibly plastic, mouldable and ready to learn. In fact what happens now is laying the foundations for everything else.

Calming your baby isn’t just about peace - it’s about building their capacity to learn, connect and thrive.

When babies are calm and regulated, their brain can focus on developing - not just surviving.

Follow along so I can show you how to teach your baby calming strategies that support their nervous system and their development.

Send this to a new parent and share, save or message me to know more.

Your newborn baby’s brain is programmed for survival. Babies often cry because they feel unsafe in this world and closeness is the cure.

In the first three months of life a baby’s brain is wired differently, the primary function being survival. There is a deep primal programme running in the background that is alert to sensing danger. When a baby ‘feels’ alone they are not feeling lonely, they are literally triggered, a red switch is flipped 🚨and they cry out as a knee jerk reaction.

The babies who did this best back in cave man times were more likely to be kept safe from predators and survive to pass on their genes.

Although we live in safer environments these days, the programming hasn’t changed and that is why a newborn baby (0-3 months) often won’t settle in their crib.

Follow along as The Calm Baby Blueprint shows you how to go from crisis to calm, not only soothing your baby but supporting their brain and nervous to move from ancient programme to conscious and calm.

What is Fascia and why is it so important, especially for newborns?

Fascia is a web of connective tissue, think of it like a thin wetsuit that skims your whole body and connects and communicated with muscles, organs and nerves.

If the fascia is tight in the mouth, this tension can be carried all the way down from the tongue to the stomach to the toes.

Reflux can stem from tight fascia on the mouth, disrupting latch, leading to aerophagia (air swallowing) resulting in regurgitation.

A baby that screams in tummy time will usually have tightness and restriction in the neck which connects to the back and pelvis.

Fascia is a big deal, yet it is hardly to never discussed in postnatal care.

Gentle massage, body movements and oral exercises can unwind tight and bunched up fascia.

Would you be interested in learning more about this?
