The scales are NOT an accurate measure of day-to-day fat loss.

They are ONE measure.

Because honestly?

Women can do EVERYTHING “right” and still see the scales fluctuate because of:

☀️ heat
🧂 salt
❤️ hormones
😴 poor sleep
😩 stress
🏋️‍♀️ exercise inflammation
..and then suddenly decide:

“Right brilliant. I’ve ruined everything then.”

You haven’t.

This is why I always tell my ladies:

If the scales go up one week but you’ve done everything amazingly...

have another amazing week and see what happens.

Usually it settles itself back down, but if needs be we an tweak - no drama.

Because fat loss is rarely perfectly linear.

And eating well and moving your body is NEVER a waste.

Ever.

Even if weight loss needs a few tweaks along the way.

Because improving your health, energy, strength, symptoms and habits still matters massively.

Honestly?

Part of this journey is improving your relationship with the scales too.

Because if a tiny fluctuation sends you into a complete nosedive...

the scales are controlling YOU.

Not helping you ❤️

And if the scales genuinely spiral you every time they fluctuate?

Use other measures instead.

Photos.
Measurements.
Your jeans.
Your energy.
Your symptoms.

Because your progress is about SO much more than one random Tuesday morning weigh-in.

Follow for realistic, science-aligned midlife weight loss and symptom support without the all-or-nothing nonsense ❤️

When Jacqueline came to me, she felt completely stuck.

Perimenopause had hit hard.

Weight gain that seemed to appear overnight.

Puffiness.

Exhaustion.

Energy crashes.

Hot flushes that still had her waking up drenched despite being on HRT.

And alongside that she was navigating hypermobile EDS, autoimmune-related fatigue, food intolerances and physical limitations.

Honestly? Traditional diet culture was NEVER going to work here.

Because this is exactly what I wish more women knew:

Midlife bodies are not failing.

They are changing.

And women do not need:
more punishment,
more restriction,
or another "start Monday" moment.

They need support that actually works WITH:

✔ hormones
✔ symptoms
✔ energy
✔ health conditions
✔ real life

Fast forward a few months...

✔ a breath from her original goal weight
✔ doing so well she has now extended her goal 😂
✔ no more waking up drenched with hot flushes
✔ sleeping better
✔ less puffy and inflamed
✔ more energy
✔ feeling healthier and more like HERSELF again

Because there is no one-size-fits-all approach in midlife.

And if you feel stuck right now?

Your body is different now, so it needs a different approach.

When weight loss stalls in midlife —

it is not failure.

It is feedback.

And honestly?

This is the exact moment most women panic.

The scales stop moving.
They think their metabolism is broken.
They slash calories.
Start doing bootcamp circuits and living on sadness and cottage cheese.
Or give up completely.

But for my clients?

This is usually where everything changes.

Because midlife fat loss is not about throwing every tactic at your body all at once and hoping for the best.

It is strategic.

Sometimes things have just stretched a little:
the evening pours,
weekend pickiness,
less movement,
stress,
poor sleep,
life being life.

Sometimes it IS the scales.
These things fluctuate wildly in midlife —
which is exactly why we do not live and die by them.

And often?

It is simply metabolic adaptation.

You weigh less now.
Your body needs less fuel.
And your metabolism has adjusted to the changes already made.

That is NORMAL.

In fact, I am thinking about this from session one with my clients.

Because I always keep plenty in my back pocket.

We do not pull every lever immediately.

Because what happens:
✔ six months from now?
✔ after a stressful season?
✔ after a holiday?
✔ five years down the line?

THIS is why so many women end up stuck in cycles of:
lose weight → panic → restrict harder → regain weight → repeat.

Not because they are lazy.
Not because they lack willpower.

But because nobody taught them how to lose weight strategically in midlife.

So when progress slows?

We reassess.
We tweak.
We support the body smarter.

Not punish it harder.

And honestly?
THAT is often where the real transformation starts.

Perimenopause is honestly one of the most under-explained stages of a woman’s life.

One minute you feel absolutely fine.

The next?

You’re waking at 3am, gaining belly fat despite eating the same, crying at dog reels on Instagram and wondering if you’ve suddenly lost your mind.

Meanwhile the internet is still out here telling women to:
“just eat less and move more.”

Cool.
Thanks.

What more women deserve to know is that perimenopause can impact:

• hormones and blood sugar
• sleep
• cortisol and inflammation
• metabolism
• bone health
• gut health
• anxiety
• cravings
• energy
• body composition

And no — you are not imagining it.

Women can lose bone faster during perimenopause than before OR after menopause.

Belly fat often ramps up most in the years surrounding the final menstrual period.

Symptoms can start in your late 30s and early 40s.

And alcohol suddenly behaves like a personal attack.

The good news?

You are not powerless.

A few smart upgrades around:

✔ nutrition
✔ stress
✔ blood sugar
✔ gut health
✔ movement
✔ sleep
✔ lifestyle

can make a HUGE difference.

This is exactly why I created my free symptom reduction guide.

It breaks down the most common symptom clusters with the root cause driving each symptom —
from cortisol chaos to inflammation and gut health —
plus the roadmap to actually start improving them.

Everyone talks about falling oestrogen in perimenopause.

Almost nobody talks about the fact women lose bone during perimenopause faster than at any other time in their lives.
(And yes… even faster than post-menopause.)

And some of the advice women are still being given in the pursuit of weight loss is making it even worse.

Especially:
• chronic under-eating (this can double your bone loss)
• rapid weight loss
• endless cardio
• low protein diets
• avoiding strength training
• “just eat less” advice
• surviving on coffee and one sad meal a day

And yes…
this matters whether that under-eating is happening:
through dieting,
through stress,
or through poorly supported GLP1 use.

Because bone loss in midlife is not just about osteoporosis.

It’s about:
• metabolism
• strength
• mobility
• independence
• future quality of life

Under-eating — whether on a diet or on a GLP1 — is not the flex.

Frail isn’t sexy.

And neither is:
losing muscle,
slowing your metabolism,
feeling exhausted,
struggling to maintain your weight long term
or ending up physically weaker in the pursuit of being smaller.

Bones are living tissue.

They NEED:
• protein
• resistance training
• impact/loading
• adequate fuel
• vitamin D
• magnesium
• calcium
• enough food full stop

Women deserve to feel good in their bodies…

without sacrificing their future health to get there.

Lisa lost 4 stone using Mounjaro alongside sustainable nutrition and lifestyle support — but honestly?

That’s not the most important part of her story.

At 47, Lisa had completely lost hope of losing weight in midlife. She was struggling with:
• high blood pressure
• pre-diabetes
• high cholesterol
• low confidence
• years of failed diets

Using GLP1 as a TOOL alongside the nutrition, habits and sustainable approach I teach my clients, Lisa:

✔ lost 4 stone
✔ went from a size 18 to a size 12
✔ reversed pre-diabetes
✔ improved cholesterol
✔ reversed high blood pressure

But what matters most to me?

7 months after stopping Mounjaro…
Lisa is STILL maintaining her results.

Because this was never about:
“getting skinny as quickly as possible.”

It was about:
✔ protecting health
✔ supporting metabolism
✔ preserving muscle and bone
✔ creating habits that actually LAST

And honestly?

This is the part of the GLP1 conversation so many women are missing.

Women deserve more than:
“just eat less and hope for the best.”

They deserve proper support around:
• midlife weight loss
• menopause nutrition
• metabolism
• muscle mass
• long-term maintenance
• sustainable fat loss

That’s exactly why I created:
The GLP-1 Golden Window Method.

Do it properly.
Protect your body.
Keep it off.

For years I genuinely felt a bit embarrassed that I couldn’t exercise the way some women on social media could

And I know that probably sounds ridiculous.

But when social media constantly shows you women smashing huge workouts, lifting heavy and looking strong as hell…

it’s very easy to feel like what YOU are doing somehow isn’t enough.

Especially when your body physically cannot tolerate certain things.

And honestly?

That mindset can become really damaging in midlife.

Because I genuinely believe movement is one of the BEST things we can do for our health alongside good nutrition ❤️

For:
muscle mass
bone health
metabolism
mobility
mental health
ageing well

But life is also real.

Bodies are real.
Energy is real.
Stress is real.
Midlife is very real

And I work with women with these challenges every single day.

Women with fibromyalgia.
Women with painful joints.
Women juggling kids and work.
Women exhausted from menopause symptoms.
Women who physically cannot do the “ideal” version of exercise social media pushes.

That does NOT mean they have no power over their health.

And it definitely does not mean what they ARE doing “doesn’t count”.

Because honestly?

A woman managing 10 mins lighter weights at home most days will do better long term than somebody constantly swinging between perfection and giving up completely.

That’s true for food.
And it’s true for movement too ❤️

But just to be clear…

for those that can... deadlifting 70kg IS a bloody amazing achievement ❤️

But I also think women deserve to know there is more than one way to look after their body well if that is not available to them.

Follow The Midlife Reset for realistic midlife weight loss and menopause support that actually fits real life ❤️

When my b***s start talking… I listen

It sounds ridiculous, but for me it’s the clearest signs my body gives me that something’s off

Too much wine
Too much sugar
Not enough sleep
More stress than usual

And suddenly… symptoms creep in

This is exactly what I see with the women I work with in perimenopause and menopause

Your warning signs might look different

Hot flushes
Anxiety
Low mood
Joints on fire

But it’s the same thing
..your body letting you know something needs adjusting

Most women think about food only in terms of weight loss

But in midlife, how you feel matters even more

When you start focusing on how you feel…

everything gets easier
weight loss included

If you want help reducing symptoms and understanding what your body actually needs

comment “HELP” and I’ll send you my symptom support guide
