TESTOSTERONE AFTER MENOPAUSE: WHAT IT HELPS — AND WHAT IT DOESN’T

Some women are reportedly pretending to be men to buy testosterone online. The real question is why they feel ordinary menopause care has left no safer route.

Testosterone can help selected postmenopausal women with persistent, distressing low sexual desire when HRT alone has not helped. It is not proven for every menopause symptom, and male-pattern exposure is not female treatment.

GLP-1 DRUGS + ENDOMETRIOSIS: 8 EVIDENCE CHECKS

1. Patient reports created a signal.
2. GLEAM was a self-selected survey.
3. 63% met its stricter endpoint.
4. 84% improved in at least one domain.
5. Neither number is an efficacy rate.
6. Improvement did not clearly scale with weight lost.

A new menstrual-fluid biobank could deepen understanding of heavy periods, endometriosis and fibroids. It is research in progress, not a diagnostic test available today. If bleeding or pain affects daily life, record the pattern and seek clinical review rather than waiting for future findings.

A headline about a pill delaying menopause is not the same as an available treatment. Researchers are testing whether a low-dose medicine affects ovarian-ageing markers, but that does not yet prove menopause can be safely postponed by a set number of years. Do not self-source research medicines.

Women taking GLP-1 medicines for diabetes or weight management have reported changes in endometriosis pain and bloating. A new preprint survey makes that signal worth studying—but it does not prove these medicines treat endometriosis.

The most interesting result was that improvement did not clearly rise with weight lost. That could reflect biology, bias or other uncontrolled factors. The responsible next step is a trial, not off-label prescribing.

Vaginal oestrogen is local HRT—but it is not the same exposure as systemic HRT. It targets genitourinary tissues, and NICE supports its use for menopause-related symptoms, including alongside systemic treatment.

It may also help reduce recurrent UTI risk for some people during or after menopause. It does not treat an acute infection, and pain, bleeding or persistent urinary symptoms still need the right diagnosis.

L***a filler is often called “vaginal filler” — but the anatomy matters. Current evidence concerns hyaluronic acid placed in the external l***a majora. Recent studies are encouraging, yet they remain small and do not prove that filler treats every cause of dryness, pain or sexual difficulty.

The safest question is not simply “Is hyaluronic acid safe?” It is whether the right product is proposed for the right tissue, reason and patient, with a real complication plan.
